Tancredo Declares War On What’s Left Of The Conservative Coalition

Published by at 7:54 am under All General Discussions,Illegal Immigration

Tancredo, the ‘visionary’ of the immigration hypochondriacs, has declared open political war on those conservatives who support the comprehensive immigration bill now being debated in the US Senate. He will work to defeat politicians who do not bend to his ‘vision’:

Rep. Tom Tancredo ratcheted up his presidential bid and anti-illegal immigration crusade today with a hot-button Web ad declaring: “Tom Tancredo: Defeat amnesty politicians.”

Tancredo said he would spend more time traveling to Republican-held congressional districts around the country. There, he hopes to pressure GOP incumbents in their own backyards, threatening to work for their defeats unless they help block the immigration reform bill now pending in the Senate.

When I said the conservatives had declared an end to the governing coalition and would not broach anymore dissent (meaning they have declared all common ground closed) I was not exaggerating. Tancredo has declared his litmus test. No other issue matters. If you support doing anything that allows the 12-20 million workers to stay – including fines, back taxes and clean criminal records – then he will work to defeat you. All other issues are secondary. This is the mindless obsession that permeates the immigration hypochondriacs. They are losing the battle and have decided to take everyone down with them.

The GOP is a wounded, minority party right now. And Tancredo is throwing gas on the wounds and trying to strike a match. H/T Harold Hutchison

“Center”: what if you don’t like Tom Tancredo NOR Ron Paul, like me?

    Ditto, Dale.

in what passes for par these days, the feds and homeland security are delaying the new passport rules. it seems, and this is to unbelieveable given the larger debate on immigration, it can’t handle the flood of applications from current US citizens. they were deluged by a sudden million applicants going on vacation.

that’s so reassuring, what with 10-20 million illegals coming. these people, chertoff in particular, are incompetent. the bill took effect in january and they could not figure out that there would be a surge for vacations? oh yeah these folks can clearly handle the border! background checks, no problem, done in 24 hours. i don’t know if i should laugh or cry. i won’t even mention the fact these folks are foreigners. we can’t even process US citizens!!!!!

    here’s their solution……

The U.S. State Department’s Consular Affairs Office says applications are up nearly 50 per cent — from 12 million in 2006 to a projected 17.7 million this year.

With too many requests and too little staffing, passport processing is proceeding at a snail’s pace — often up to 12 weeks. Anxious travelers can cut the time in half by paying $60 extra for “expedited service,” so anyone planning a summer trip might be wise to ante up.

For those of you that are hurt that people are calling you names etc. Be glad to know the on my LSU political board the insults are flying ttowards me as the kill the bill at all cost people are already licking their chops at possible victory . This is pretty typical of what I and others have had to deal with all the past two years

Then vote Kucinich who will quickly end the war. On the theory
that meddling overseas with a run-down Army will create more
and more dangerous short-term problems than even the Mexican invasion.

Okay, whatever miniscule shred of credibility you had, just disappeared with that comment!

I’m a former Marine, there are former Navy and other people on this board as well.

You literally have NO IDEA what you are talking about with this comment “run-down Army”; that is a LEFTIST talking point, that’s in the same realm as the Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

The fact that YOU believe it, says more about you, than it does anything else.

    Kucinich???

Put the Bong pipe down, and back away, s….l….o…..w….l…..y!

I’d vote for Al Gore before Kucinich, and that has a snowball’s chance in hell of ever happening.

Just so you know what you are dealing with:

I am 100% FOR the War in Iraq..

    I’m 100% FOR the War in Afghanistan…

I’m 100% FOR us taking on Syria, Iran, and Pakistan as well…

And if the Jihadis don’t get the message from that, I’d take out the Jihadis from Morocco to the southern Philippines.

I’ve lived in the Middle East, gone to University there, studied Arabic, and I’ve analyzed and written about Islamic Fundalmentalism for THIRTY YEARS!

I spent SEVEN years, trying to tell the Bush Sr. Administrations, and the Clinton Administrations, EXACTLY what they were dealing with; and when they wouldn’t listen, I left the IC out of frustration.

I KNOW; I won’t say “you”, because I hope that right now you’re just silly and naive, but I KNOW, and if we don’t take them on now, and end it now, your kids, and your grandkids, will be in danger!

And in case you give me the Leftist meme that this is all George Bush’s fault, and if we just play nice, they’ll leave us alone!

I’ll remind you, we WEREN’T in IRAQ, when 9/11 happpened, when the USS Cole happened, when Khobar Towers happened, when the AmEmb East Africa happened, when the WTC ’93 happened (which by the way, IF it had worked would’ve killed TWENTY THOUSAND people!)

In fact, you probably don’t even know, that Robert Kennedy Jr. was assassinated by a Palestinian, named Sirhan Sirhan, who CLEARLY said, in 1968, right after he killed RFK, that he killed RFK for his and American SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL!

My advice to you: Educate yourself, read a book or two, then come back and try to discuss this issue with a bit of knowledge!

Count me as one who read but didn’t post, until now.

I’ll grant you that Rep. Tancredo has, um, issues. And you’ve utterly dismissed the stuck-clock scenario. Tsk, tsk…

    As you’re fond of saying, it’s a $13T economy.

Q: Did you ever consider how offensive poor-mouthing a glorified chain-link fence sounds?

Q: During all of your verbiage, did you ever consider that building two parallel fences, filled with concertina wire, watched by towers armed with remotely operated weaponry (some nonlethal!) 🙂 would do to turn down the temperature on this debatle?

Q: Did you ever consider meeting US half-way?

  8. AJStrata says:

    PSGInfinity,

I am all for the fence improvements as are many who support the bill. Now, how about meeting us halfway and letting the thing pass with the guest worker program?
