Surrendercrat Credibility Problems

Published by at 10:04 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

The Democrat who are pandering to the anti-war base in the face of their all out surrender on the Iraq war funding are stretching credulity again with a promise that they have just begun to fight:

Democrats may have lost the first round with President Bush on ending the war in Iraq since taking over Congress in January, but they say their fight has just begun.

Oh please – enough with the faux bravado. The public’s opinion is not going to get any stronger against the Iraq war and could, with more signs of progress, even shift towards support over the summer. But one thing is clear – the political equation will NOT change. Bush will still be President, Dems will still have razor thin majorities, Lieberman will still bolt if surrender is pushed and the money for the war will be harder to stop. Why? Because it will be in the general DoD budget. The supplementals cover the war funds outside the DoD primary budget (Bush is brave and wise to keep the votes for supporting the war completely above board). The next time to hit a supplemental will be Feb-March 2008 (now folks understand where THAT magic withdrawal date came from). The Dems are so full of it. They are not going to battle al Qaeda nor Bush and everyone knows it. This is just embarrassing to watch.

And, putting all their energy into this fight, just WHO are the surrendercrats going to fight, you may ask?
