Saudi Arabia Avoids Massive Terrorist Attack
It seems Saudi Arabia has dodged a big bullet:
Police arrested 172 Islamic militants, some of whom had trained abroad as pilots so they could fly aircraft in attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil fields, the Interior Ministry said Friday. A spokesman said all that remained in the plot “was to set the zero hour.”
The ministry issued a statement saying the detainees were planning to carry out suicide atttacks against “public figures, oil facilities, refineries … and military zones” — some of which were outside the kingdom.
No word yet from Senator Surrender on whether this ‘civil’ war inside the Kingdom was another hotspot US forces should be prepares to run away from. One thing that is disturbing is the note the attacks were outside the ME. It should not be lost on anyone that the majority of 9-11 murderers were Saudi nationals. And 172 terrorists could do a lot of damage, being 8-9 times the number who executed 9-11. The Dems are staring at an example of what we will see if we surrender Iraq to al Qaeda. But instead of 172 it will be more like 17,200 jihadists prepared to martyr themselves in the skies above America and Europe. Just because liberals live in a fantasy world were 9-11 never happened and there are no Islamo-Fascists doesn’t mean they do not exist, and it did not happen. That has a nice ring to it, AJ, as well as poetic justice, since they’re, for the most part, the same ones calling us global warming deniers.
Sooner or later one of these jihadist plots is going to come to fuition. And when it does, a whole lot of people (the ones who survive, anyway) are going to have an epiphany with regard to what civilization is facing. Until then, I’ve reached the conclusion that debating them is an exercise in futility.
