Chuck Hagel, Soon To Be Ex-Senator

Published by at 10:03 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

Chuck Hagel has turned out to be one of the Senate’s most bizarre characters with his sappy tears regarding our military doing their job and his recurring flashbacks to Vietnam. He is really an embarrasment. So it is no surprise the is likley to be beaten in the primary by a more solid (emotionally and policy-wise) Republican as polls showing clearly bad results (and at this early stage in an election these are REALLY bad numbers):

Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning (R) took another step toward a 2008 U.S. Senate candidacy Monday, issuing a poll showing him beating Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.) 47-38 in a potential primary match-up.

If you reversed the numbers it would be bad news for an incumbent at this stage. But with the challenger within striking distance of the magic 50% mark and Hagel down in the high 30’s you can basically start saying your farewells to Hagel. He is toast.

Good. This needs to happen to a few more of these guys.

So what happens if Hagel runs as a Democrat? You can say goodbye to that Nebraska Senate seat.

    LOL! Soothie,

You are a great delusional leftie. If CT did not go anti-war it is doubtful Nebraska will. You really are new to this politics stuff aren’t you?

    Too funny.

There are already two democrats running against Hagel so there’s not much room for Hagel to run as a Democrat.

Ben Nelson is more of a moderate Democrat than a delusional leftie. Hagel qualifies as a delusional leftie but does not deserve to win regardless of his party affiliation.

I sure hope so. He has been on the BDS warpath from the minute he and McCain lost the nomination. Good riddance, at least McCain has tried to redeem himself lately and has gained a couple of points with me while Hagel needs the boot.

Since I rant about the Repub. Congressmen all the time, let me point out (again) a man with a spine……Sen Inhofe (who stood up to the wimpy committee on Abu Ghraib) just issued a challenge to the S Crow crowd and Gore. My kind of Senator. Tells it like it is ……….calls NAMES. Out with the Hagels and up with the Inhofes. If a party could capture what the Pugs need now, it would be a snapshot of Inhofe at the Abu Ghraib hearings. Pugs in the seat of power but Inhofe was the only one that shouted his Outrage at the way the committee was letting all the troops get smeared.

This is good news — Hagel has worked hard to undermine Bush and US interests. The guy’s arrogant & delusional, and not terribly smart. Ben Nelson is a better repub than Chuckie.

    Where can I contribute?
