Reid Claims US Troops “In Denial”

Published by at 12:46 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

When Sen Surrender (Reid) claimed President Bush was in denial over Iraq, then he was including EVERYONE who sees the situation in Iraq the same as President Bush. What I want to see Sen Surrender do is go to Ramadi and explain to this Marine why he is considered “in denial:

well ramadi was once dubbed by everyone as the worst city in the world. but we have done such a great job here that all the families in the area have worked with us on driving out the insurgency and that we work directly with the IA and the IP’s. the city has been cleaned up so well that the IP’s do most of the patrols now and we go out with them to hand out candy and toys to the children. you can tell that the people want us here to protect them from the thugs and gangs (insurgents).

yeah and i got a qoute for that douche harry reid. these families need us here. obviously he has never been in iraq. or atleast the area worth seeing.

Dude – he doesn’t even attend the briefings. What right does Harry Reid have to say all that these fine people have worked to accomplish is a failure? He has not right at all and he should resign since it seems representing America and our Troops is too much for Sen Surrender…

Update: Looks like the full commentary from Iraq is here.

Can you say political party over country? That’s exactly what this is and it’s utterly disgusting.

Good job pointing this out AJ. How can one say someone else is “in denial” about Iraq and then not attend the briefings and updates on Iraq? Only if they are a liar being abetted by a willing “mainstream” media.

This guy needs to be called to the carpet for this one.

Do any elected Republicans have a spine left?

You know we would not had to listen to these asswipes if the republican party had govern themselfs as republicans, but no they
had to pull the same crap that Dems. had done for decades before they lost their magority in the 90s.

I know the Iranians were all over what Reid said, the terrorists were too and so was AlJazeera and anti American Europeans. Anyone who wishes ill for America was repeating what Reid said. He should be ashamed. Whatever he thinks, he needs to be careful about what he says.

How do I despise these people? Let me count the ways.

  5. Soothsayer says:

Staff Sgt. Matt Pierre, who’s been in IRaq for 2 of the last 3 yers, begs to differ:

We’ve talked at length, my soldiers and myself, and a term that comes up often is, ‘this is our generation’s Vietnam.’ I don’t think this can be won. We’re caught in the middle of a civil war.

The people that were against us, and they’re the majority, they’re gonna I believe ultimately win. And that’s unfortunate.

So is St. Pierre crzy, too?

We can only hope that the polls or just plain human self respect will get the Reps to give themselves a self induced testosterone injection.

As a side effect maybe their wives will take that frown off their face.

    soothsayer:

I can find you several who say something different. They are not the Borg, they don’t all think alike. But most soldiers support the mission. That does not change the fact that you can not just pick up and leave. It would take a year just to begin a real withdrawl.

It does not change the fact that when the enemies of the United States, like Iran and AlQaida are whooping it up after some American Senator makes a comment like that…well that shows stupidity on his part.

  8. Terrye says:

    Sooth:

Are all the soldiers sending emails and letters saying Reid is full of it in denial?

I think you liked what that guy said because he used the magic words, Viet Nam and you got all dreamy and thought, defeat, how wonderful.

  9. Soothsayer says:

BAGHDAD – A suicide car bomb struck a patrol base northeast of Baghdad on Monday, killing nine U.S. soldiers and wounding 20 in the single deadliest attack on American ground forces in more than a year, the military said.

Let’s ask the nine kids that got blown up today whether THEY think Reid’s crazy, Terrye. Let’s ask them how great an idea the draft-dodging coward in the White House’s Surge plan is.

Oh, no, guess we can’t. They’re dead.

  10. The Macker says:

    Sooth,
“the draft-dodging coward in the White House”- What was applicable to the Clinton White House is counter factual to the Bush White House.

  11. MerlinOS2 says:

    Sooth

That one rang a bell not just with the exact words but the tone of defeat you have.

I have not just seen you just here, you have inserted yourself into other slightly right to way of right conservative blogs. Do you think your one person armada tilting at the wind will carry the day?

  12. Terrye says:

Personally Sooth I think that when our soldiers get killed people like you think of one thing, how can we use this to advance our political agenda?

Well you know what sooth, people like Reid and yourself put these people into more danger because you have made it plain to the enemy: kill people and we will help you get what you want. Just keep your end of the bargain and slaughter people and we will keep up ours and run away. After all if we are just going to leave, why would the people stand with us? Why take that risk and turn in the terrorists, tell where the caches are? I heard one military commander say that people like Reid were putting his own people in more danger. But my guess is Reid knows that.

The thing I wonder is about this whole defeat thing. The enemy has never defeated our military. The enemy is not supported by the masses, in many cases they are not even Iraqi. The enemy does not hold any territory. They just randomly kill people, mostly civilians and somehow that means we have “lost”. That is not losing, that is just giving up.

As for draft dodging coward, well that is stupid. Bush was in the Air National Guard. Believe it or not people in the Air National Guard were often activated and sent to Nam. Where was Bill and his wife? Or Howard Dean? Has Edwards been in the military? Has Obama? Has Pelosi? Gore had minders and worked on the newspaper. The truth is McCain who was actually a POW did see a lot of action and does support the war.

You see when you make remarks about cowards in the White House that tells me that you just hate Bush. That is all. And that hate is all that matters to you. The honor of the military does not matter. The well being of the people does not matter. Doing the right thing is of noimport, no the only thing you care about, the thing you live for is hate hate hate.

What are you going to do when Bush and Rove leave? My guess is transfer that hate to the next Republican and keep on hoping for defeat. Defeat is cool.

  13. Soothsayer says:

    Personally Sooth I think

No, you don’t THINK – you never think – and that’s the problem. You spout the party line – and that’s about all. You talk about people like me – you know nothing about me at all. But, for the record, my ancestor, Deodatus Curtis arrived in the New World in the early 1600’s. My ancestors in this country include Israel “Whites of Their Eyes” Putnam, and Rufus Putnam, a Revolutionary War general and the founder of the first permanent settlement in Ohio at Marietta.

My grandfather fought in the Spanish-American War, but was sent home when they found out he was only 16. My father was a Sgt. and combat infantryman in the 95th Infantry – the Bravest of the Brave – in WWII, my Uncle Frank flew a B-24, John was in the Marines in the Pacific, Dan in the Navy, Dick in the Navy, Eleanor and Clara in the WACs. My brother was an operating room medic in a surgical hospital in Nam. When I graduate from college I got a high lottery number – 175 -and wasn’t called, but I had passed my physical, been asked to go to OCS, and classed 1-A.

I’ve got a cousin who’s a major in armor in Iraq right now, so I don’t need some brainless lecture from you about the honor of the military. Bush is dishonorable scum – and because he cares nothing about the military – why else allow Rumsfeld to destroy it – I have no respect for him – or for the fat coward Cheney.

  14. Aitch748 says:

So Sooth has all sorts of military relatives, including “a major in armor in Iraq right now,” but doesn’t support their mission and gloats about impeaching their Commander in Chief.

Something tells me Sooth himself has never been in the military.

  15. wiley says:

So what does brave, patriotic & heroic Israel Putnam of the 1700s have to do with liberal, misinformed, hateful Soothy of 2007? Absolutely nothing. Your military relatives must be ashamed of their imbecelic Soothy, for surely you have learned nothing from them or history. Some things are worth fighting for, and we’re the luckiest people on the globe to have so many brave, selfless soldiers volunteer to protect us and our freedom.
