Hagel, The Modern Vietnam Fool

Published by at 11:12 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

Sen Hagel is having serious flashbacks to Vietnam:

Last weekend, along with Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.), I completed my fifth trip to Iraq, and I am frustrated and worried. We are still risking the lives of our troops without giving them a realistic policy worthy of their sacrifices. To me, as a Vietnam veteran, that feels terribly familiar.

What part seems familiar Senator? The part where the Democrats spurned the war and created the image that our soldiers were out of control, killing machines reminiscent of Ghengis Khan? The part where the military was hampered by a Congress which put down ridiculous rules surrounding their ‘permissible actions’ so that they had no hope of winning and were nothing more than sitting ducks? Is Hagel remembering how the Congress and a Democrat President micro-managed the effort and basically killed tens of thousands of American because they never once had the humility to recognize a political genius is not a military genius? Is Hagel remembering how all faith in the military eroded away, taking with it the honor and prestige of serving your country?

Clearly not since he is now the one eroding the honor of service through is incessant handwringing and weeping like a child? Hagel is the one promoting the restriction of mission to be one devoid of offensive acts, making our people sitting ducks to terrorist bombs. Hagel is the one holding back needed ammunition, supplies and replacement troops. Hagel has become the the modern version of the dangerous political hack who gave him his nightmares which dog him to this day. Hagel has become the worst part of Vietnam – the Democrat who killed our people because they searched and searched and searched for a way to lose the war. And while they searched for the perfect loss and negotiated with the enemy in secret, the dems left our people out there to die and die and die until a good loss could be found. That is the nightmare of Vietnam.

Winning is a mindset and will power. Never vote for war unless you plan to win – something Democrats NEVER learned from Vietnam. Then, like now, they vote to the prevailing wind of politics, even if it means dead Americans. Hagel is has become one with these people who have no sense of reality. Hagel is having nightmares because he knows he is the devil who killed so many in that long ago war from a different generation. Hagel never had success in the military – he knows only failure. Which is why he is one – a failure.

If there has been one consistent complaint about Viet Nam that almost everyone agrees on it is that Politicians {like Hagel} tried to run the war from Washington.

Hagel and Murtha have both been politicians for a lot longer than they were soldiers.

The Democrats and the press are attempting to re-create the conditions of the 1960’s and 1970’s. They are attempting to create another Nixon (notice the comparisons of the missing white house emails with the 18 minute gap in the Nixon tapes), they are trying to create another Viet Nam, and they are trying to create another Watergate.

But it isn’t working. Bush still has strong support in his own party, firing 8 prosecutors isn’t Watergate, and Iraq isn’t Iran. If anything the Bush Administration is a closer analogy to Harry S. Truman than Nixon. Barely elected (Dewey wins!), unpopular war (Korea), low opinion polls (still much higher than Truman’s were), criticism of the creation of new agencies (DHS and DNI under Bush … vs. CIA and NSA under Truman).

    Give ’em hell, George!

What the dems don’t realize is that we now have lots of experience from the 60’s in defeating their ruse. We have since learned alot about what *really* happened in the 60’s/70’s.

They are not our first enemy nor will they be the last. We have defeated much tougher enemies than them. We *will* prevail and take our country back from the global socialist communist democrats. Long live America, the Beautiful!

And these people are running around each day and passing laws for us to live by!

AJ, did you see Drudge? England is filing charges against 3 KGB guys over the Pl120 poisoning.

Police have told sources close to Mr Litvinenko’s widow Marina that they intend to lay charges of murder and poisoning against the men, who met the victim three weeks before his death in London.

And who are these sources close to Marina Litvinenko? I see the Goldfarb PR machine is alive and well. Could they possibly be Bereszovsky and his group? When the police announce themselves that they are swearing out a warrant for those three men then I will take notice. I will never believe Bereszovsky has clean hands in this incident or incidents.

Hagel is an idiot. I can somewhat understand the dims decrying the war. It is to their benefit that we lose because that would mean the republicans would lose. But what is Hagel’s motive? He is a republican, after all. Maybe he is slowly turning his coat .

    Off Topic but of interest:
“Scotland Yard detectives are to issue arrest warrants against three former KGB officers suspected of poisoning ex-Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko.

Police have told sources close to Mr Litvinenko’s widow Marina that they intend to lay charges of murder and poisoning against the men, who met the victim three weeks before his death in London.

The move will damage the already strained relationship between Downing Street and the Kremlin, which is almost certain to block any request for the men’s arrest and extradition. ”

This isn’t the first time we have heard that Scotland Yard was ready to present their case. I will wait and see. This could be designed to spook someone into showing their hand.

  12. BarbaraS says:

Remember, Bereszovsky is one with the media. Personally, I don’t think we will hear anything about the solution with this case. It would already be dead if the Bereszovsky PR did not keep it alive.

They have even dragged Solenko into it. I thought it was proved the “poisoning” did not happen in the Pine Bar. Solenko was out all day with Lugoivoi’s family sightseeing and only met Litvenko in the Pine bar or even outside. Sounds fishy.
