Dump Wolfowitz

Published by at 4:48 pm under All General Discussions

Oh Lord, save us from these fools! Since Paul Wolfowitz has admitted to bribing his lover with World Bank funds he should be fired – plain and simple. There is no excuse for this and he should be gone. He made a mistake, he admits it. Now leave. Granted, Clinton never PAID Monica….

But we don’t need this pattern starting.

Agreed. he should go. Whatever he hoped to keep quiet with this move is going to be wide open now. No sense in trying to protect anyone at this point.

  2. kathie says:

    What a shame!

  3. MerlinOS2 says:

He should have submitted his resignation letter along with the admission.

  4. For Enforcement says:

Don’t really see where he did anything wrong. This kinda stuff goes on every day in 80% of the businesses all over the world. Most people would not have admitted it, then where would they be?
Clinton was influential in Monica’s job and paid just as surely as wolfy was in this one.

Sounds as if someone might have actually been getting some value for the Banks money, for a change.
If it were a Democrat, everyone would just say business as usual. It’s not really a worse offense just because it was a Repub that did it.

I’m sorry. He was stupid for doing this but as For Enforcement said it goes on all the time. I am tired of republicans resigning at the least little infraction and the dims commit actual crimes and stay where they are and are rewarded. Look at Corzine. didn’t he get his girl friend a job or something? and that governor of NJ who set his boyfriend who wasn’t even a US citizen as head of Dept of Homeland Security? Double standards. No he shouldn’t resign. No one in this administration should resign unless they really want to or the president wants them to. It will be too hard to get other people confirmed in this atmosphere. The media will look for this stuff and play gotcha on republicans while giving the dims a pass. I’m sick of it. The best thing to do is ignore them and they will move on to a new “scandal”.

  6. Terrye says:

I heard the tale end of some report on NPR and according to that a lot of people don’t like Wolfowitz because he spent too much time and effort going after corruption and too little just handing out money. So there were people out to get him anyway.

  7. For Enforcement says:

BarbaraS and Terrye, that’s what I was saying. If it was a Democrat, like Clinton did, people wouldn’t even think of calling for their resignation. Why are Repubs held to a standard and Dems are not?
It’s not a higher standard. It’s just a standard. Dems have the RIGHT to be as crooked, immoral as they want to be.

it goes on all the time.

    BarbaraS – really?

Physically repugnant Republicans spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to utilize girl friends whose only qualifications are a high gag reflex threshhold when supplying their sponsors with illicit physical gratification?

I would never have guessed it – but now that you point it out – I have to agree. It would also explain Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani’s multiple affairs, divorces and marriages. Thanks for the tip.

  9. For Enforcement says:

SoothieKen, Baby, does it also explain Willie promoting Monica?
And he was also supported by the taxpayers when he was raping women, but that doesn’t count does it. Dems have no standards for moral behavior except for Repubs.

The culture war is really about the ones who make it and the ones who don’t, the ones who are attractive and ones who are not, the ones who function well and the ones who don’t.

Attractive is not a word I ever use in the same sentence with the word, liberal. Ever.

  11. wiley says:

I agree with BarbaraS & Terrye. Wolfy made a mistake, but didn’t hide it and has apologized. This is really about stopping him from taking out the corruption and streamlining the bloated mgmt (meaning job losses). These well-paid do-little bureaucrats don’ want to jeopardize their cushy jobs.

  12. clarice says:

Nonsense..She was on the payroll before and had to leave when he took over, Tonight the Bank’s Board of Ethics cleared him of any wrongdoing in the contract to compensate her for having to transfer. She now works at a private foundation BTW.

David Sanger has a good piece in today’s NYT about how this is the Euros idea to diminish US power at the Bank and stop his anti-corruption drive in its tracks.

I am sicj to death of the right demanding people fall on their sword for every claim of wrongdoing.

  13. For Enforcement says:

Well said Clarice. Yea, if it were a Democrat, we would just say, Ho hum…….. Business as usual and no damn Democrat would fall on their sword..

  14. Soothsayer says:

Rudy G’s talk about letting his current twice-divorced, thrice-married slut attend cabinet meetings is comparable to what would have happened if Bill Clinton had divorced Hillary, married Monica and made her his #1 advisor, except Monica at least has a 4 year degree.

I use the term “slut” advisedly, as Rudy’s Missus was dating her 2nd husband before her 1st marraige was over, and was trying to move into the mayoral mansion while Rudy’s wife and kids still lived there.

Oh – and I don’t think Monica was paid more than the Secretary of State for her “services” – unlike Wolfy’s tax-paid concubine.

  15. AJStrata says:

    Soothie,

Your on the brink with me. There is no reason to call someone’s wife a slut. Either grow up or leave.

  16. AJStrata says:

    Hey Clarice,

Well if I was wrong then I was wrong. But I have zero patience for people who hire their lovers and pay them more than others who have been working at the careers for a lifetime. And I don’t check credentials with this one. And no, it is not from a personal experience.

But if it was OK then the media needs to back off. Because the other thing I cannot stand is the media feeding us BS and getting us to believe there is a problem when there isn’t. But you are right, if he is cleared there is no wrong doing and I will put up my mea culpa post.

  17. BarbaraS says:

A tempest in a teapot just like most of the media stories. Twisting the facts to show the worse case. I’ll bet nothing is said about his being cleared or wrongdoing. That’s not their agenda.

  18. For Enforcement says:

Because the other thing I cannot stand is the media feeding us BS and getting us to believe there is a problem when there isn’t.Because the

When did they NOT do this? That’s ALL the formerly MSM does.

  19. BarbaraS says:

It’s hysterically funny to hear a liberal being so damned moral like Soothie in the above post. Concubine, Soothie? Have you been reading the Bible again? Your handlers won’t like that. And I thought according to liberals there are no sluts. PC, Soothie. PC.
