Leftist Surrender Monkeys Out In Force

Published by at 9:09 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

A failed attempt to kill Cheney was not only a disappointment to the lunatic fringe on the left, but now a clear sign we should run away from the fledgling democracy now in Afghanistan (as well as run away from Iraq). Why is it the left are so weak kneed at the same time their egoes emote an air of uncompromising arrogance? Must be some kind of compensation factor I guess. So we go from immature comments about Cheney to how the incident is a clear sign we need to surrender to al Qaeda in Afghanistan as well as in Iraq:

A deadly daylight attack on the huge U.S. military base at Bagram, Afghanistan, during a visit by Vice President Dick Cheney underscores the diminishing American prospects for military success in the region, analysts said yesterday.

Al Qaeda is fighting back, that’s it, it’s over. Give it up. They killed 3,000 innocent Americans, and we tried to face up to them, but they exploded a bomb and so we should just quit. It’s over. Doom and gloom and doom and gloom and doom and gloom. We liberals, sitting in our cushy chairs back here in the US sipping our Latte’s, we have had enough. Let’s just quit.

Personally, I wish the left would just quit all together. But the truth is the more they whine and cry and cringe the more America realizes they accidentally elected a bunch of Class A losers who couldn’t win a dodge ball game (which is why they keep trying to ban them) let alone a war on our very existence. The lambs want everyone to lie down and get the Nick Berg treatment, get all over with. Just plain pathetic. Why anyone listens to these people is beyond me. They have already quit and surrender. They just want everyone to now join them. Not going to happen. My children will not grow up in an Islamo Fascist controlled world or country. Muslims are always welcomed, I have no bone to pick with any religion. But the death dealers of the Taliban and al Qaeda need to be exterminated just like the Nazis were.

    Al Qaeda is fighting back

Al Qaeda is a tribal Arabic Sunni group (i.e., Saudis, Jordanians, Emirates). The Taliban has been idenitifed as the entity that launched the (thankfully) failed strike against the Vice President. The Taliban is made up mostly of tribal Afghan Sunni Muslim Pashtuns (also referred to as Pathans); to say Al Qaeda is fighting back in this context is imprecise and not a helpful analogy.

Give it up. They killed 3,000 innocent Americans, and we tried to face up to them
Makes all the more puzzling the aid that the Bush Administration funnels to al- Qaeda related violent Sunni groups trying to stem the growth of Shiite influence in the Middle East (specifically the Iranian government and Hezbollah in Lebanon).

The U.S. has been pumping money, a great deal of money, without congressional authority or congressional oversight for covert operations. These funds have ended up in the hands of three Sunni jihadist groups who are connected to al Qaeda but want to take on Hezbollah.

So, in Iraq we hate the Sunni and love the Shia, and in Iran, we hate the Shia and love the Sunni.

Oh, heck, why worry, the Decison Makers have done such a swell job so far . . .

    Follow-up Question to AJ:

The Department of Defense’s number two official implies the Global War on Terrorism will end just in time for the presidential election in November 2008. Memos written by Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England on Dec. 6 and sent to top military and civilian officials, identify eight priorities for the coming fiscal year: the first of them to Win the Global War on Terrorism and ensure that warfighters and taxpayers receive maximum benefit from on-going initiatives, it would be highly desirable to complete current projects by the summer/fall of 2008.

England also provided a quarterly grid with the eight priorities from the December memo, and expected milestone conclusion dates for each one The first priority of winning the global terror war looks to end around October 2008. The next presidential election will occur in November 2008, a month later.

Smells like a time line! Does this make the DoD a member of the Surrender Monkey Brigade??

    Soothie,

The government is full of beaurocrats writing lame powerpoint slides which mean nothing, go nowhere. Sounds like your kind of person – nothing but random thoughts detatched from reality.

That is why we elect leaders.

  4. AJStrata says:

    Soothie,

Don’t forget, we already established your knowledge of how the federal government works is on par with your knowledge of orbital mechanics. Basically non-existent. One day you will learn to stop displaying that ignorance so clearly and so often.

“Al Qaeda is a tribal Arabic Sunni group ” says Soothie

You could not be more wrong. Al Qaeda is an equal employment opportunity Jihadist organization initially organized by members of a radicalized Sunni sects.

I guess in addition to being unable to convert metrics to inches, you also can’t read a DoD organizational chart: Gordon England is the Deputy Secretary of Defense – there’s only ONE – and the government is not full of #2 cabinet position “beaurocrats”[sic].

He was nominated by George Bush in May of 2005, replacing Paul Wolfowitz directly under Don Rumsfeld, and now Robert Gates. If he is a beaurocrat [sic], he’s one hand-picked by Dubbya.

Your knowledge of goverment matches your knowledge of the metric system.

There is congressional authority. There was congressional oversight in the last few years. Let’s hope those funds are diverted to the right direction if this is indeed a fact.

  8. lurker9876 says:

Bush has implied since 9/12/01 that this is a generational war, which means it will last past his presidency term.

Anyone can specify a timeline if they want to.

  9. Jacqui says:

Al Qaeda, Iran and the Taliban considers the Democrat party and their looney left fringe (whcih soothie so aptly represents on this site) as a solid ally and believes that the these white flag Americans are far more dangerous weapons then any of their suicide bombers and fighters. This is why they continue to do actions that they know the looney left in the US will cheer (like the attack on Cheney) and the left continues to rachet up support for the enemy….the left is becoming a vibrant Al Qaeda cell. The “support the troops”and “bring them home” statements are just smoke screens to cover their true intentions.

  10. Soothsayer says:

There was congressional oversight in the last few years.

From when to when has there been congressional oversight on this?

Bush has implied since 9/12/01 that this is a generational war, which means it will last past his presidency term.

According to the DSDOD the plan is to wrap it up by October 2008. Bush implies

    Sooth,
If govt. organizational charts engage you, you must really enjoy the IRS rules.

you must really enjoy the IRS rules

    You must KNOW your enemy!

  13. lurker9876 says:

You just want to believe what those democrats are telling you…that there was no congressional oversight but there was congressional oversight in the last few years before last November’s elections. Somebody researched and compiled a list of committees and meetings that performed the oversight of this war. I don’t have that post anymore but the information is available at the government website(s).

The war on Global Jihadism remains a generational war regardless of whether we leave Iraq or not. You just cannot see the difference between the war against Iraq and the war in Iraq against Global Jihadism.

Well soothsayer I know this, if Clinton had spent as much time in his second term dealing with AlQaida as he did with his pants around his ankles we would not be having this discussion.

But as usual Democrats are good at complaining and blaming others and not much else.

Now the Democrats are either saying we did too much or not enough in Afghanistan. After all it is a NATO operation. It is a multinational effort and that is what Kerry said he wanted.

And the truth is the US does not hate or love Sunni or Shia. Our beef is with terrorists, radical jihadis…not with any sect. Maybe you are just too uninformed to understand that.

But I thought the immediate drooling and twitching and shrieking and catterwalling from the left after that bomb attack was very telling. Nice folks you hang with.

  15. dennisa says:

I believe by their stupid antics yesterday, following the bombing of the Bagram air force base, that the anti-war crowd revealed themselves for what they are. They are stupid, uninformed, disinformed, irrational, and lying. On top of that, if they’re sanguine about the Vice President getting killed, they’re dangerous.
