The Folley Of The Liberal Media

Published by at 12:45 pm under All General Discussions

The only news I have seen today out of the Libby trial is the reaction of the liberal media to the dire challenges this nation faces in the Middle East from Islamo Fascism. Here, on full display from the trial, is why the media in this country is beyond substandard and is actually a waste:

C Why were events in Iraq of such concern

TYOI We had tons of troop in danger. Iraq was one of the two or three most important initiatives any president has made into the ME, concerning terrorism, WMD, democracy, in region of highest nat security interest to the US. [some laughs in the media room.]

Our safety and the threat of al Qaeda has ALWAYS been a joke to the liberal media. Their ‘popularity’ has fogged their heads to confuse being well know with being well educated and serious. I think it is fair to say we have a wealth of evidence to put that canard to rest. I am grateful that I will see the end of the self absorbed news media in my lifetime. The Blogosphere has already demonstrated it superior intellect and power to reason over the old media. And the conservative blogosphere continues to run circles around all the shrill and wild pronouncements of the liberal media and liberal blogs. I will point once again to the premier example of the folley of liberalism – Senator Joe Lieberman. So al Qaeda and the ME are a joke? Thanks for being so ‘enlightening’ (versus ‘enlightened’).

My sources have the Libby defense team getting kicked around pretty good this morning. Andrea Mitchell will NOT testify, as Wells declined to call her. Cluck-cluck-cluck.

Cheney aide John Hannah testified Scooter was a busy man. Fitzgerald responded during cross by asking Hannah if Libby was so busy would he have declined an invite to a two hour breakfast ? Big laughs in the courtroom, since it was a dig at Libby’s two hour St. Regis tete-a-tete with Judith Miller.

Then Wells wanted to call three CIA briefers to talk about the busyness of Scooter, but Walton says they can’t testify Libby was consumed with the events described in the morning intelligence briefings because it now appears that Libby is not going to take the stand. Cluck-cluck-cluck.

Still waiting for one journalist to apologize for misleading the public over the Wilson/Plame fiasco. Some members of the media are worse than unenlightened. Can’t tell the truth, have to protect our sources.

So, the defense doesn’t need to call Libby or Mitchell?
Sounds to me like the defense is kicking arse.
They have so much to work with… 🙂

Soothie – I have respect for your legal analysis, but you’re beginning to sound like the quintessential Washington insider – i.e., all that matters is “winning” and being more clever than the other guy. If Andrea Mitchell did testify, she would be stuck in a perjury jam, because she probably did in fact know who Wilson and his wife were long before Novak wrote his column. Matter of fact, Woodward knew it too, as evidenced by the tape of his conversation with Armitage. Instead, we had this three year story about how the White House was persecuting poor Joe Wilson, the same Joe Wilson who been loudly proclaiming his story all over town, with no journalist willing to refute it. So basically we have the Administration attacked, and careers devastated, over nothing. But that’s okay, because the right side is “winning”.

    Sooth

Wells is handing Fritz his head in his hat.

You can smooth and groove it all you want but reality is such a strange taskmaster.

The only thread Fritz is hanging by is a DC jury.

    Grow up, adults do more.

    Great Posts Dennisa and MelinO2.

Truth be damned. Just get the power back. And, oh yeah, revenge.

    Bad, bad, karma.

  7. Karig says:

I wonder if Soothsayer’s “sources” are the same people who were snickering in the media room over that comment about national security.
