Democrat Political Suicide – Ally With Our Enemies

Published by at 12:56 pm under All General Discussions

With their poll numbers tanked and American seeing the Democrats as hopelessly lost (relative to the important issues of the day), the last thing the Dems should do is stretch out to try and protect those enemies of America who have been caught during the war on terror trying to kill us or fight for those trying to kill us.

The Pentagon set rules Thursday for detainee trials that could allow terror suspects to be convicted and perhaps executed using hearsay testimony and coerced statements, setting up a new clash between President Bush and Congress.

The rules are fair, said the Pentagon, which released them in a manual for the expected trials.

Democrats controlling Congress said they would hold hearings and revive legislation on the plan.

According to the 238-page manual, a detainee’s lawyer could not reveal classified evidence in the person’s defense until the government had a chance to review it.

The new regulations lack some protections used in civilian and military courtrooms, such as against coerced or hearsay evidence.

I cannot wait to see the Democrats go out and defend known killers. This would be the fulfillment of the second of nine items I listed as the Democrat Contract With Al Qaeda, basically all those things they promised to do for Al Qaeda if elected:

EIGHTH, we will submit and pass legislation that will mandate any questioning by US agents of Al Qaeda members to (a) be done in the presence of an ACLU lawyer, (b) never last more than 30 minutes, (c) be done indoors, in climate controlled conditions, (d) include an offering of proper food and beverage and (e) require every question to use the word ‘please’.

Journalists and Democrats (is this redundant?) seem prepared to make sure these butchers and killers are provided the same rights as US Citizens:

KIM LANDERS: Well the Pentagon is pressing on as if the new trials are going to go ahead.

When journalists asked today should they be preparing their travel plans for Guantanamo, the Pentagon officials bluntly said yes. So as far as they’re concerned, it’s full steam ahead.

But there is a chance of some legal obstacles because Democrats, who are newly in control of Congress, are already muttering about revisiting the detainee legislation. Just a short time ago one senior Democrat was saying that he was going to carefully scrutinise the new rules to make sure that they don’t run foul of the Constitution….

MICHAEL MORI: Unfortunately it doesn’t do anything to improve on the unfair trial that the Military Commission Act sets up. It only reinforces the removal of fundamental rights that you would find in the US court martial system.

KIM LANDERS: Are there any improvements on the old system?

MICHAEL MORI: No. On the old commission system, no, there is no improvements. And you know, the problem is, you could have all the well-meaning people operating in the system, but the rules themselves don’t provide for a fair trial.

Not sure why enemy combatants deserve even a trial. But we will let the Democrats explain why they are spending their political capitol protecting terrorists and enemy combatants while tearing down our protections against attack by these thugs. Evidently, the Dems are also preparing to make good on a third item of the contract as well, which is:

SECOND, We will enact legislation to release all Al Qaeda members now held in custody in the GITMO Gulag, while providing legal counsel to all who have been unfairly detained during this unfortunate international misunderstanding between Al Qaeda and America. We will ensure all detainees have options for bail and parole so they can continue with their life’s efforts while the legal issues surrounding their detention are worked out. Every ex-detainee will be provided the services of an ACLU lawyer.

This bizarre idea of emptying GITMO of all the most dangerous terrorists in the world is the brain child of Mad Jack Murtha – among others:

Representative John P. Murtha, the chairman of the powerful Defense Appropriations subcommittee and a close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, said he wants to close both prisons by cutting their funding, “to restore our credibility worldwide.” If he succeeds, it would force the administration to find a new location for high-value terrorism suspects.

The effort to close the prisons, which Murtha said Pelosi supports, illustrates how congressional Democrats are confronting the president over his war policies.

“I’d like to close Guantanamo, but I also recognize that we’re holding some people that are darn dangerous and that we better have a plan to deal with them in our courts,” Bush said in June.

As I predicted the democrats do have plans. They plan to empty the detention centers of the masterminds of 9-11 and provide them with an army of ACLU lawyers so they can spend 30 years on death row as martyrs to Jihad. That has been their plan all along. They are replacing the promise of 72 virgins with a promise of 72 ACLU lawyers. Note that the Dems already made good on their first promise to al Qaeda to push for the US to surrender Iraq to the terrorists.

Speaking of providing people with U.S. Citizens rights:

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said the state would offer assistance to all affected laborers, regardless of their immigration status.

”Everyone will get help,” he said Tuesday. ”We are not here collecting immigration statuses.”

The governor’s press secretary, Aaron McLear, elaborated on Schwarzenegger’s comment Wednesday, saying the promised assistance for illegal immigrants included food programs, temporary housing, low-income energy assistance and other social services — but not unemployment insurance.

This refers to the “Global Warming” problem in California’s Citrus Areas.

The other night I received a political polling type phone call. And, what was the oddest thing (besides the fact that it sounded like the call originiated in India), was the questions. The few I heard. Which were “designed” to elicit positive responses about donks.

In one question, about pelosi it began “did I see,” and when I said “no.” The man just kept repeating the question.

In the next question, I was asked “if I saw” how “all the donks wanted to do was raise marginal tax rates on the rich.” (Marginal tax rates, by the way, are a meaningless measure of our economy.) Our county is HUGE. And, businesses (of varying sizes) run this economy. Just as workers are taxed to support it. Everything you hear about congress “doing anything either to, or for” the economy is BULLSHIT. Again, my answer left the man re-asking the question, as if I was in some sort of loop. I grew tired. And, hung up the phone.

But making these types of phone calls are cheap. And, the “results” are what the donks use, where they are hoping the media will “force us” to think differently.

Did you know most of the American people took the Warren Commission’s findings as fictional? It never swayed most people at all to believe in the government “line.” (Line. It’s a nice way to say LIES.)

And, yes. It’s obvious the donks would have trouble selling, at retail, the crap they’re carrying on their shelves.

Winning in November was one thing. It was easy to poison, or cheat, at least 25 districts “of a difference.” Since the HOUSE is composed of 435 districts. It doesn’t mean much if one of these “stores” switches alliances. Or not.

Going ahead with pelosi as a “seated driver” was dumb on a scale you cannot imagine. Unless you imagined NASCAR. And, then asked yourselves if she had the driving skills to race around the track.

That the media doesn’t change, is one of the things everyone seems to be recognizing. Along with people who send their kids off to colleges; the same is noticed. The crap within academia doesn’t improve, either.

Heck, even American cheeses can’t compete with the french. Because the french don’t tamper with their foods the way we do. And, the french, even though a majority are catholic, don’t get upset over adulteries. Or stories about RAW MILK.

You need your milk RAW to make the best cheeses.

Meanwhile, the donks have no con-o-sewers. If they owned what businesses use, to test out ideas, before junk ends up on supermarket shelves; a lot of their bad ideas would be killed. No matter how enthusiastic the clowns got in marketing.

Heck, even Sony ends up in trouble when their marketeers out-vote their engineers. (And, then all that happens is that lawyers get rich.)

Is that the whole idea behind congress? It’s all about lawyers getting rich?

One way or the other, most of us aren’t impressed.

While, I do notice that media types came upon stories, which they then carried around like painted banners. But you can’t win wars without using guns. And, killing people. Waving banners, notwithstanding, it’s not a good reality test of your skills to inspire.

One day? Perhaps, if after journalists get fired, a few might turn a few tricks? And, decide they can sit at home, like Sherlock Holmes, and counter the bullshit with truth. (Believe it or not. The truth is there.)

    But audiences are fragmented.

That’s another thing worth noticing. The donks operate with HATE and HOSTILITY. It’s there game to affect turnout, literally forcing it to go low. (Because then they can steal.) They’ll never learn to steal as well as Ken Lay did, though. But then he had to kill himself.

By the way, most people who commit suicide don’t do it by smoking cigarettes. Because that takes too long. They do it ON PURPOSE. That’s not what’s happening with the donks! They’re doing it, because this is as close as they can ever come to POWER. (Once upon a time, when things were different, the donks OWNED power! They also seeded state and the pentagon full of jerks.) Even here, Bush has learned to deal with it. He just fires the crap. Lincoln had to do this, too. (Did you think it was just Donald Trump? Businesses that run well are always changing their “parts.” Because the best organizations are STRONGER in unity, that the parts are to the whole.)

Wow! In all my years, the only polling calls I have gotten are on local politicians at election time, and what radio and TV stations I watch or listen too!
I’m still waiting for a major polling company to call.

Off to work, enjoy your day folks!

The democrats have lost their minds….along with some of the conservatives…

  5. Carol J says:

As Ivehadit says…I don’t know how many times I’ve asked this question in the last four or five years, but…

ARE THESE PEOPLE INSANE??? They are now not just content with surrender in Iraq, they want to capitulate to terrorists EVERYWHERE!!!

    Just damn!

  6. Carol_Herman says:

I dunno, Carol J., if “surrendering” would be the best word of choice, here. Since they can’t do it! They might as well all be standing at the seashore, screaming for the waters to turn back. (Since it does, ebb and tide, some might think they’re affecting things with these behaviors). But INSANE works for me.

Just as in whore houses, the gals learn they can sell some pretty weird stuff. It’s not just whips and feathers. You’d be surprised what weird things can be delivered “for a price.”

On the other hand, the donks are no closer to “getting Bush” than they’ve been with everything else they’ve thrown out these past six years.

I bet Dan Rather’s ass is still hurting from the spanking he got. How so? He just doesn’t get the same wonderful resturant tables these days, when he goes out to lunch.

And, Bush is still in the White House, with no need to worry.

Better yet, we don’t see the opportunities that rests on Bush’s plate. But they are there! And, I’m with Beldar on this one. I think, ahead, because the donks aren’t capable of changing much; Bush will whip out his VETO PEN.

Beldar says between 16 to 22 times! Do you know that number makes me faint? I can’t believe any president got to do it even 16 times, in two years. But then I’m not that great at remembering the numbers and dates that fell out of the history books. Only that Andrew Jackson HAD A BALL with his veto pen! And, ya know? He got elected way back in the early 1800’s. To this day, he’s got one of those spectacular reputations that men get to carry with them long after they’ve left the White House.

How dumb do the donks have to be to be facing anywhere near two-dozen VETO’S? Ya know, they haven’t got the numbers to do an override. Beldar made sure to add that bon mot. It’s one thing to watch horse races. The way the track works you hardly ever see a horse deciding to gallop backwards. Or to leap off the track and head off to pasture. It makes politics more interesting than ordinary races though. Just to think of all the ways the insane keep doing, trying to change what wins with the People.

Heck, given how newspapers aren’t making the kinds of money they used to, is it a wonder no one comes along to help them out?

  7. Terrye says:

Sheesh. Congress already passed detainee leglisation doing pretty much was the Supreme Court said they had to do to remain legal. However, the Supreme Court did not say we had to turn these people lose at all. In fact they said the opposite. We can keep them locked up until the end of hostilities.

Meanwhile the freaking lawyers in congress are going to “revisit” the detainee bill. These people will die of old age before the politicians get done jacking with them.

As for as our credibiity world wide, well, if putting a few hundred stone cold killers in Club Gitmo is going to damage our crediblity in a world where people are starved, shot, raped, beheaded and blown up everyday then I think it is a lost cause anyway.
