We Need To Fire Anan

Published by at 8:53 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

Kofi Anan has been an unmitigated disaster as head of the UN. The guy is so partisan and so anti-America (probably because we cut off is slush fund from Saddam Hussein under the Oil For UN Crooks Program) that he is useless. Everytime the man opens his mouth America gets one more reason to just stop funding the failure that is the UN (which now stands for the Unbelievably Naive). Kofi has once again made it clear he misses his sugar-daddy, ‘ol Warbucks Saddam:

Iraq’s national security adviser says he is shocked by UN head Kofi Annan’s suggestion that the average Iraqi is worse off than under Saddam Hussein.

Mouwaffaq al-Rubaie also accused the UN of shying away from its responsibility towards the Iraqi people.

The UN secretary general, who leaves office after 10 years on 31 December, told the BBC that the situation in Iraq was now “much worse” than a civil war.

The liberal handwringers are really getting tiresome. The threat in Iraq is from Al Qaeda and Islamo Fascism – which would be worse than Saddam. The hope for a better future in Iraq is the success of the Democratically elected government – which would be better than Saddam. On the scale of good to bad the current situation is at least on the right end of the spectrum. And for all those dying to quit and allow Al Qaeda a base to attack the free world from it is time to get over Saddam. A stable brutal world IS NOT better than a dynamic, challenging world heading for a better life for millions.

Socialism and communists and all those on the left fear change. They would rather live in a guilded cage than fight for a better life. The left is so afraid of meeting a challenge or a threat they had doubts about Afghanistan as the World Trade Center still burned red hot in NY City. They left want a better world for the downtrodden, but they prefer to attack the infrastructure of the free world, which is the best path to a better future, than the scours of the earth. Change is good and necessary and a part of nature. The left has never understood that. That is why they freak out when the temperature goes up, goes down, gets windy, gets dry, gets wet…. Change unerves them. They see ghosts and conspiracies everywhere. When the truth is that the evil in this world is complacency. The rationalization we can live with something instead of facing it head on.

It is the Kofi Anan’s of this world who let Saddam stay in power and ignoring UN resolutions for years. It is the Kofi Anan’s of this world who lined their pockets with the blood soaked oil money from Saddam so he could keep his rape rooms and child torture centers running. Anan is a fool and this world was foolish to ever bestow upon him a leadership role.

It’d s bit ;ayr for that . He’s about to retire and is making ouyrageous pension requests.

  2. clarice says:

It’s a bit LATE for that***********

On Anan’s watch North Korea build a nuclear weapon, Iran is getting nukes, Somalia has fallen to Islamist, Sudan has killed hundreds of thousands, Lebanon is out of control, Rwanda happened, the Congo is still in disarray, he got his main man killed in Iraq, Bosnia is run by thugs and mafia types, I’m sure I could think of other areas of concern. So Anan blames the US for all the ills of the world. If I had a record like his I guess I would be pointing my finger in another direction as well.

  4. MerlinOS2 says:

Add to that the Bolton resignation plus it looking more and more like democracy in Lebanon may be in question.

    We live in interesting times.

I’ve said all along the man is a dunce and a crook. Also ineffective and anti-semitic. I will always believe he was tied up in the oil for food scandal. How could he not know what was going on under his nose ? And he gave a pass to one of his assistants accused of bribery or something. And who knows what other kickbacks and bribes he got from other people. The UN itself is corrupt and ineffective. It is run by third world countries run by dictators and out for our billions. I wish someone could tell me one good thing the UN has accomplished in the last 30 years. They have failed at everything while taking billions of our money to denegate us. They live and work in our largest city with impunity to our laws and probably on our dime. I read where they run up traffic tickets by the millions and don’t pay them. There are so many of them in New York City that they are influencing our citizens to hate this country. Look at all the leftys who adore Castro and feel we deserve whatever is dished out to us by our enemies. I discovered a long time ago in order to win any diplomatic was send in the charming people and let them win over the masses. I, for one, want the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN.

He’s bitching because he doesn’t get his “allowance” from Saddam anymore???…boo hoo.

And now the UN wants to spend up to 3 billion renovating that POS in New York they call UN Headquarters. Of course most of that money comes from the world’s biggest “sucker” for a sob story…the United States!!

Just ONCE I’d really like someone to tell the UN to pitch tents and set up a refugee camp OUTSIDE the United States! It’s about time they stopped complaining about how badly they are being treated by us and found out what its like to live in one. Whatdaya think? Non-existent plumbing, rampant disease, starvation, roving gangs of thugs in the camps, rape rooms…you get the picture. Of course, some of these very same “diplomats” are the ones most responsible for this everywhere across our planet!!

John Bolton is probably NOT going to be confirmed by the useless idiots in our own Congress! THAT’S where their priorities are!

    What a world!

    typo. diplomatic war

  8. Carol J says:

Dear GOD!!! I just found out that John Bolton has resigned!!! I am speechless. The one voice at the UN advocating for the UNITED STATES is now effectively been silenced!

Congratulations America! This is what you wrought by electing a Democratic majority! I am so FURIOUS, I don’t know what to say…

Bolton and Rumsfield resignations are not the only problems. Look at Patrick Leahy chairman of the judicial committee (traitor in chief), Reyes on the house intelligence (against the war), Rangel on the house ways and means (total idiot), and Conyers on the house judicial committee (the impeachment guy, you know) and on and on. This is total disaster. And I guess Rockerfella chairman of the senate intelligence committee (rival to Leahy for traitor in chief). I do hope all the republicans who sought to teach congress a lesson are happy that they voted democrat or stayed home. They accomplished so much more than they hoped. Mainly that the safety of the US is down the toilet. It’s enough to make you sick.

  10. Barbara says:

And last but not least, Nancy Pelosi (total flake) as speaker of the house and third in line for the presidency. We are truly screwed. If Conyers succeed in impeaching the president and vice president as he wants she will be our president by default. That would probably be the only way to get a democrat president in office. This would be a back way. But then the democrats like the back way best, witness using the judicial branch to get their issues through.

  11. colanut22 says:

I just heard John Bolton resigned. That is absolutely the worse thing that could be happening to the U.S. during this terrible time. The people around Bush are gradually being diminished and the naysayers are taking over. I’m SO depressed.

  12. crosspatch says:

He had to resign before the next congress takes session. It’s the law.

  13. ivehadit says:

Carol, I could’t agree with you more…my only hope is that he will be hired by State…to work at the UN…and we have no ambassador…just John.

I despise all those who sat home or voted democrat.

  14. Retired Spook says:

He had to resign before the next congress takes session. It’s the law.

The lame-duck Senate could have confirmed him before the end of the session, but I suspect that good ol’ Chuck Hagel and Lincoln Chafee saw to it that he didn’t have enough votes to get out of the Foreign Affairs Committee. They can both rot in Hell.

Personally I think Bush should not nominate anyone for the post. No fanfare, no denunciations, no comments — just leave the post vacant. Ignore the UN and let it fade into the ash heap of history. Oh, and VETO any Democrat bill for continued UN funding.

Carol, I join you — I can’t remember when I’ve been this angry.

  15. Carol J says:

    I’vehadit and Retired Spook…

Right on! We certainly DON’T need an ambassador to that place and if not an outright veto of funds to the UN I think it should be severely limited. It’s time they existed on OUR terms…we are paying the bills for that worthless organization! As far as building a 3 BILLION dollar UN Headquarters building and footing the bill for Kofi Annan’s $250,000 pension that he somehow voted himself, I favor a good swift kick in the a$$ instead!! I’m NOT kidding…this is insanity!!!

    Carol

  16. The Macker says:

The MSM is floating the terrible idea of Mitchell to replace Bolton. We should nip that in the bud. Leaving the post vacant might have some merit.

The long range goal should be to replace the UN with an organization of democratically elected governments to act as a non binding forum, to coordinate humanitarian work and to be an incentive for all countries to form consentual governments. This could be an idea who’s time has come.

  17. crosspatch says:

We need someone there to veto goofy resolutions.

  18. The Macker says:

    Spell that “consensual.”

  19. Barbara says:

What was it John Bolton once said “Knock off the top ten floors of the UN and we would never know the difference”.? The UN is an albatross around our necks and the only reason to stay a member is , as Crosspatch said, to veto their goofy resolutions and to look after our own interests. Probably the reason the terrorists did not hit the UN building instead of the World Trade Center is because they knew it would be no loss. We do need to form a union of democratic countries dedicated to furthering democracy and looking out for the world’s atrocities. All we seem to do is fight the UN’s absurdities. The UN accomplishes nothing. They want to rule the world’s courts and the internet and I suppose have one global world with them at the top. Heaven help us if that ever happens.

Here, Strata shows to all why he should stick with analysis of
spy poisonings: he has no clue whereof he speaks in this post.

One, the “change” he pushes is Wilsonian liberal at best. In this
particular scenario however it was triggeredy by ex Trotskyite
neocons who worshipped at the altar of Leo Strauss. All this
is the furthest thing from conservative.

Strata pushes REVOLUTION and Annan is correct in that this
attempted revolution has only worsened conditions for the Iraqi.
Strata’s motive is to excuse Bush’s blunder on an unthreatening
Iraq. So he pushes the al Qaeda line even though al Qaeda
is 3.8% of the anti-American insurgency and no threat to
take over Iraq if we leave or had left in 2004.

Iraqis themselves consider Saddam’s regime in nostalgic terms
because order is always preferable to long term anarchy which is what
    prevails in most regions.

Strata-get back to what you do best, which does not involve
rationalizing an unwinnable war (for which Iran’s spoke of the
    “evil axis” thanks you!)
