Pelosi Disses Liberal Base Again

Published by at 2:56 pm under All General Discussions

The Liberal base came out in droves to effect ‘change’ in America. Their expectations were the Dems would deliver. They would see investigations for war crimes. They would see immediate withdrawal from Iraq. They would see gays in the military. They would see higher taxes. They would see it all!!!

Ain’t going to happen. Why? Because Pelosi is turning against her liberal base for personal political power.:

Yesterday, Pelosi and the incoming House majority leader, Representative Steny Hoyer, quashed talk of reinstating the draft one day after Representative Charles Rangel said he will file a bill to make that happen

House Democratic leaders have extracted a promise from the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Representative John Conyers Jr. of Michigan, to rule out impeaching President Bush.

Pelosi has also tempered hopes of reversing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on the service of gays and lesbians in the military, after two key Democrats — Representatives Martin T. Meehan of Lowell and Barney Frank of Newton — said last week that they want to repeal the policy.

Representative Ellen O. Tauscher, who leads the centrist New Democrat Coalition, said Pelosi is lowering expectations of the incoming chairmen, because maintaining the legislative majority takes moderation.

In essence, Pelosi and the moderate dems just gave the finger to their liberal base. And what about that surrender in Iraq?

n his speech to the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the Illinois Democrat said the U.S. should end its “coddling” of the Iraqi government by beginning a reduction of troops in the next four to six months and pressuring Iraqis to work out agreements among their warring factions.

Politically, the plan he embraced positions him alongside many centrist Democrats in Congress who are calling for a slow and careful withdrawal of troops, rather than a quick exit or a build-up of military personnel in Iraq.

He suggests a redeployment of troops and stepped-up efforts to train Iraqi security forces, and says the U.S. should link economic aid to Iraq with “measurable progress on reducing sectarian violence.”

This is the Bush plan! It is simply ‘stay the course’ and complain about Bush on the side. Pathetic. Now folks know why I found it hard to believe Americans would fall for the Dems BS ploy. But the Reps were that bad (and need to fix their alienation of Bush Conservatives). I bet Kos is feeling pretty pissed about now!

I’m no defender of Obama’s moderation–or of your dissembling.

Show me where Bush explicitly called for any troop reductions in 4 to 6 months . Show me also where Bush encouraged Iraq to
host a conference with Syria and Iran. Iran has staged a propaganda coup with its confab and Bush officials haven’t exactly been enthusiastic about it, by the way.

Pelosi cannot deliver to the liberal wackos or she’ll be a 2 year wonder. She knows that but she has to keep appearances like supporting Murtha. This Obama stuff shall pass. He has no experience and is just a mouthpiece, plus he has a ton of bagage. They have not touch the surface with him yet.

When you get the carpet cleaned, please send Ken the bill.

Last time I saw such a display my wife had a poodle in heat that dragged her butt across a very nice area rug that I had to have steam cleaned.

I find it amazing that such a genius doesn’t have his own blog.

Until then I can only hope that blogging software will implement an ignore key feature.

The democrats will use anyone and anything to get elected. This is the most important goal for them and it trumps God,, County and family. This is their religion. Power. And Money of course. The leftists were dumb not to know this. After all, they use the same tactics themselves.
