Dems Take Senate

Published by at 1:09 am under 2006 Elections,All General Discussions

OK, give them their due. And now we have the results. Higher taxes, giving Iraq to Al Qaeda, and pretending thre is no war on terror – just America causing problems.

I am not even a Rep and I can see the pending disaster. How is it Reps let Foley’s seat go? How is it Reps let Delay’s seat go? Dems had a plan to win and Reps let Maccaca stop them. And people wonder why I stay away from registering Republican? Right. Bush will pull a plan together and it is time to rally around him and give us a path forward. Don’t make any mistakes. We let Bush down – he (and Rumsfeld) never let us down. Pull yourself together. Al Qaeda is also dancing in the streets. And we let it happen.

Watch the Iraqis who supported their new democracy leave in droves. Israel had better gets their eggs in a row, Syria is on her way.

  2. HaroldHutchison says:

    No kidding.

Put it this way… the global war on terrorism is going to be won, but only because at some point, it will be turned over to a joint command based in Omaha. At that point, it will last 72 hours, tops.

Then the United States will have to deal with the fallout – both figuratively and literally.

AJ. You’re wrong, and so very strongly wrong, about so many things. Why should you be surprised at being so incredibly wrong about the outcome of this election. Comparing your electoral predictions over the past several days, weeks and months, against the reality of the world paints a huge and unmistakeable portrait.

You’d think (well, *some* might be given to think) that with such unmistakeable negative feedback, that you’d come to reconsider and re-evaluate some of your other positions as well. “Bush will pull a plan together” ? “Al Qaeda is also dancing in the streets.” ? Do yourself a favor. Pull yourself together, and stop looking at the world thru GWB’s tuchus.

DGF the mess that IS is nothing compared to the mess thats coming.

  5. For Enforcement says:

    DGF

incredibly wrong about the outcome of this election.

Incredibly wrong? just a few points one way or the other and it would’ve been right on. He always said it would be close.

    and:
“that you’d come to reconsider and re-evaluate some of your other positions as well.”

If you have strongly held core beliefs, you don’t change them just because others don’t agree with you.
You’re saying blow with the wind. Follow the leader? If you believe that, you should go over and visit with the KoolAid drinkers over at KOS site.

  6. Limerick says:

One thing I am sure of, tomorrow I am going to eat a crow, day after tomorrow I am going to crap it out, on the third day I will go about my business of trying to wake America up. Only thing to do. Can’t give up, can’t give in. But we have to WORK at it….don’t let your goals slip away.

  7. dgf says:

[For Enforcement] You haven’t been paying attention, if you think Strata came remotely close to being right about this election, old boot. And as for strongly held beliefs, nothing wrong with them or with not succumbing to simply letting one’s self be blown hither and yon by the errant winds. The question is whether those beliefs are reality-grounded, and at least entertaining the possibility that another path is preferable, once the big old inconvenient world has shown you that the path that you’re on is not particularly tenable, profitable, well-marked, or indeed, perhaps not a path at all – but rather an unreflected-upon tunnel. In Western Culture, we like to call this “learning”.

  8. For Enforcement says:

Au Contrare, old boot. go back and read AJ’s last column about the election and learn the truth. If you had been paying attention that wouldn’t be necessary.

If you think that just because some nuts don’t understand the dangers in Iraq and with terrorism, that will make me change my mind, you’re nuts. If you think that if I believe abortion is wrong, just because some nuts don’t agree that I would change my beliefs, you aren’t in touch with reality.

If you think that just because some nuts think Murtha is right and I’m wrong, then you would have to be put in the nut category also.
I don’t think you are going to see Pres Bush change his direction in Iraq and if the Dems force a change, they then have to live with the results.
You are going to see that the Dems really don’t have any core beliefs,, except power.
If you look at it, all the change basically is coming from the land of Kerry, not the Southland where I live. If you think we here are gonna become New Englanders, all I will say is: Ha.

    Limerick,

“DGF the mess that IS is nothing compared to the mess thats coming. ”

    …..

    You mean this mess? –

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
    House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers
House Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel
    House Majority Leader Steney Hoyer
and last, but certainly not least…House Appropriations Chairman John Murtha (who will not wait long to cut the funding for our troops in Iraq) Hell they already think we’ve lost!!!

Won’t sleep tonight. We probably lost the Senate too. No more conservative judges. You can forget about that. No more NSA surveillance of our enemies. Forget that too. Rumsfeld will probably be thrown under the bus and set up for “god knows what”!

Our enemies are celebrating tonight…that’s all I need to know.

    Carol

  10. Limerick says:

I just got off a couple of other sites and it is pathetic……..All the ‘OMG we lost’ group IS the reason we lost. The label wearers.

We LOST because the label wearers followed the crowd. They didn’t have enough character to hold to their beliefs. Right on Enforcement…….my CORE beliefs don’t change. I can compromise on taxes, I can compromise on social programs, but when it comes to abortion and this JUST WAR there isn’t a BUBBA YANKEE in the house that is going to shake that.

  11. Limerick says:

Carol your point about judges was my first fear also…..but FIGHT……don’t hide…..I know you won’t, but the label wearers will.
Turn them into individuals. Squash the group-think they belong to.
All the left has is THEORY. Reality is about to slap them one hell of a lot harder then they slapped us.

  12. Carol J says:

Thanks Limerick…I certainly needed that. With that I really must get some sleep. Hope I don’t dream.

I hope to see everybody back here tomorrow. We’ll have lots to talk about, that’s for sure! I want to see what Rush has to say also.

    Carol

  13. kathie says:

I wonder how MSM is going to pay the consequences of this election. When they hit us again I hope they get the New York Times building.

  14. kathie says:

I think it is safe to say that this country will never fight another ground war again. Just think of it, the consequences are enormous.

  15. MerryJ1 says:

I’m sick. Yes, Carol, that’s part of the mess that’s coming. I’m even more concerned about the up-shot of that mess. The members of our armed forces, including one of my nephews, have been betrayed. The Iraqi people who trusted us will be betrayed. And the innocent American citizens who happen to be in the first shopping mall or sports stadium to be vaporized on US soil will still leave the leftists convinced it’s all Bush’s fault.

It’s going to take me a couple of days to get my head around this. I don’t want to believe a majority of voters are actually as gullible as the Democrats believe them to be. Guess I’ll have to just believe my own lying eyes.

A problem I have is that the Republican Party overall didn’t deserve to win, but We-The-People don’t deserve what their “lesson” is going to cost us.

  16. Carol J says:

    I agree MerryJ1.

Here is what I leave for the night and why I like Hugh Hewitt so much:

    http://hughhewitt.townhall.com/g/dc3a68c3-2554-4e89-a2cb-be5a0e18fbe8

PLEASE read, and get yourself straight about the reality of what we now face. Just like in Iraq, THIS does NOT call for retreat but to fight even harder for what we believe in.

    Good night.

    Carol

  17. Limerick says:

I just got off RedState. Gave them a piece of this poor hicks mind.
All this ‘we gotta be conservative’ BS is just as bad as the KOS poop.

Prima Donnas on both sides is what got us in this mess in the first place.

I have a son fighting. As my grandfather fought. As my dad fought. As I fought. As propably my grandson will fight. I’ll be damned if I am going to let the friggin drummers ON EITHER SIDE control this conversation on America.

God Bless you all. Even you Ken, where ever you are! There is only one truth in my life…….we all have a say. That might be trite. That might be nieve(sp?)….but it is what the hell I fought for and for what the hell I will fight for. I might be an obnoxious jerk, I am not very polished, but I damn sure know what I have learned from this life and it is NOT to wear a label.

Good night….I’m drunk, and the wifey is yellin’

  18. dgf says:

[Carol] LOL. Hewitt is such a total, perfect, tool. (Inter alia) He writes (assuming, apparently, continued GOP control of the Senate), that: “Senator Santorum is now available for a seat on the SCOTUS should one become available. ” Now, *that’s* “reality-based” thinking. Kinda like Karl Rove said the other day about the election results – “Well, you’ve got your math, and I’ve got *the* math, and the math says no change in control in Congress”. Kinda like, “Cakewalk in Iraq” (Ken Adelman). Kinda like “Mission Accomplished” (GWB). Kinda like Donnie “Freedom Is Messy” Rumsfeld. Kinda like “last throes” (the Veep). Kinda like Condi “No One Could Have Imagined” Rice; Kinda like the last several years. Reality-based. Ha. These were supposed to be “The Adults” who took over after Clinton. What a bunch of incompetents, hacks, and worse. It’d be “LOL” if it weren’t so freaking sad and wasteful.
    God Save the Republic.

  19. Dc says:

    Ah…stop your damn whining.

    Please!

Can I have the floor for min?

My family came here in the 1600s (nord/irish). There is NOTHING wrong with a good fight…to clear the air!!! There are wars that happened…since then…that YOU don’t even remember..never leanred about in school…and probably don’t care to. That’s how our damn country was founded.

I think you fret too much 🙂 Lets have a little dignity shall we?? I’m not a whinning, snivilling…stolen election…democrat. Lets hold our head high….and have some dignity. I HATED that about DNC last election…all the snivilling and begging and crying..etc.

Anybody who knows anything about this country knows that it’s founded on adversarial principals. Just let it be. This is the first DNC house/senate since what….94? Look at the bright side as an “american”…the MSM will NOW finaly play all the positive storys coming out of Iraq. NO more daily body counts (since DNC will be responsible for it). Everything will look better..feel better. And even though AlQueda will probably put out a tape thanking American people for voting for these idiots…..jsut THINK what the propeganda value is going to be with CNN etc..pumping out daily happy stories from IRaq.

We are all on the same side. It’s just half of us don’t know it.

Since the Bush administration no longer has anything to lose, NOW can we go after Rockefeller and Jefferson and McCarthy and Tice and all those other scumbags?
