I noticed a traffic spike coming from massive Google searches to finally determine from a Free Republic post that the Strata-Sphere got a mention on the first segment of Rush Limbaugh today. “WASHINGTON — It was the kind of legislation that slips under the radar here.
The name alone made the eyes glaze over: “The Clark County Conservation of Public Land and Natural Resources Act of 2002.” In a welter of technical jargon, it dealt with boundary shifts, land trades and other arcane matters — all in Nevada.
As he introduced it, Nevada’s senior U.S. senator, Democrat Harry Reid, assured colleagues that his bill was a bipartisan measure to protect the environment and help the economy in America’s fastest-growing state.
What Reid did not explain was that the bill promised a cavalcade of benefits to real-estate developers, corporations and local institutions that were paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in lobbying fees to his sons’ and son-in-law’s firms, federal lobbyist reports show.”
“Other provisions were intended to benefit a real-estate development headed by a senior partner in the Nevada law firm that employs all four of Reid’s sons — by moving the right-of-way for a federal power-transmission line off his property and onto what had been protected federal wilderness.”
“But Harry Reid is in a class by himself. One of his sons and his son-in-law lobby in Washington for companies, trade groups and municipalities seeking Reid’s help in the Senate. A second son has lobbied in Nevada for some of those same clients, and a third has represented a couple of them as a litigator.
In the past four years alone, their firms have collected more than $2 million in lobbying fees from special interests that were represented by the children and helped by the senator in Washington.
So pervasive are the ties among Reid, members of his family and Nevada’s leading industries and institutions that it’s difficult to find a significant field in which such a relationship does not exist.”

Ken, the typical lib doll. Can’t successfully debate an issue, so skirt the real issues, distort the facts while doing it, ignore real consequences and go into personal attack mode.
LHOOKRIGHT- The real issue is that Limbaugh is a thrice married
plutocrat who loves to engratiate himself with the Hollywood set;
he would allow you to shines his shoes. Before Gingrich flattered him with a yacht ride, he was a true independent , sympathetic-to-Perot grasssroots man but he couldn’t resist the buyout. Loves riding in Israeli tanks too, with his pineal cyst which he claims relgated him to
permanent chickenhawk status. At least his hero Cheney stayed with the gal he got pregnant to avoid Vietnam during which he “had other priorities” than to fight in that no-win war. Dick expects better
behavior than his and comrade Rush’s, however, from the current crop of fighters in the current no-win war Cheney lied us into.
Lmerick: Italians hated Berlisconi for siding with Bush and
overwelmingly oppose the Iraq War. The Crusades? Both
Popes involved condemned the Iraq War as violating the
“just war” doctrine. Decisive majorities of the Germans, British
and Belgians oppose the war.
The Vietnamese. Moroccoans, and Tunisians
also oppose it strongly, although I admit I have no poll results from
the Congo.
So if we rate all these superior to the French, you
gain nothing for your cheif point.
I caught Rush last Friday talking about Harry’s deals. FYI, there is much more to the story. Check out CNN.com archives re: the fact that Maricopa, County is #1 for identity theft (story by: Drew Griffin) AND last spring ABC 14 in Phoenix (reporter: Joe Ducey) re: land fraud in Maricopa (40 families that have had land stolen from them), then you will find the core to the story about Harry. It is connected with organized crime that links to many corrupt judges in state and federal courts throughout this country. The “activist judge” movement is more about corrupt judges “earning” land for their rulings. This is also connected with the “fathers’ rights” (the abusive fathers) movement that is destroying families.
There is much, much more evidence available for anyone wanting to research it through Maricopa County Recorder’s Office. You can go online. What has been exposed is only a “tip of the iceberg”, but Harry is nervous. He will clean up his records and pray this goes under the rug again. There are many out there that are very nervous that someone will do their job (FBI, journalists, Ethics Committee, etc.) because HUNDREDS would be exposed.
I just went on to Rush’s site to get an update on the story – nothing! He made serious statements that “he will not sweep it under the rug”, but it is gone! And what about the AP reporters that were doing the digging — I have heard nothing more. Who called them to tell them to stop!?!
