Scratch One AQ Bigwig In Iraq

Published by at 11:58 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

The British have scotched one of Al Qaeda’s major leaders in Iraq:

BRITISH troops in Iraq said they had killed one of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s top global lieutenants, who escaped from a US prison in Afghanistan last year.

Omar Faruq was shot dead while resisting arrest during a pre-dawn raid by about 200 British troops in Iraq’s second biggest city, Basra, British military spokesman Major Charlie Burbridge said.

US leaders have described Faruq as the top al-Qaeda operative in South-East Asia.He was caught in Indonesia in 2002 and held at a high-security detention centre at Bagram airbase, north of the Afghan capital Kabul, until his escape last year.

Someone should remind the Democrats the Omar Faruq is dead and not plotting to kill more innocents around the world because we did not cut and run from Iraq as they have been begging for over a year now. One more terrorist dead in Iraq and not here in the US.

God willing there will be a noticeable increase in the number of terrorists shot while trying to escape. The actions of the Supreme Court and the rest of the left make it a necessity.

  2. kathie says:

…….and Faruq is exactly the kind of guy who would follow us home if we left.

  3. opinionsarefree says:

They won’t have to worry about whether or not they can waterboard that one.

  4. Ken says:

except the report makes clear while losing Faruq, “international jihad” is gaining more than one replacement.

and utilizing another country’s territory for a war against foreigners
drawn to that land by US presence would be immoral, even if effecient, which the report makes clear it isn’t.

  5. For Enforcement says:

Ken, how’s things going there in France?

“except the report makes clear while losing Faruq, “international jihad” is gaining more than one replacement.”

So……… your solution to this would be to not kill him thereby avoiding the creation of another terrorist.
Ken you want to quote from one paragraph of this report, tell us what’s on the other 15+ pages.

Now I understand, after 9/11 had we NOT retaliated against the Jihadists, there would now be less of them. Yea, right…….

Ken, they got any waterfront property there in the high lands of central France?

Tell Jacque we send our best.

Suppose the reason for the Iraq situation is the old addge: If you can’t take the mountian to Mohammed, then bring Mohammed to the mountain. There is no way the US can go into every country where these crazed fanatics have entrenched themselves and we have our troops massed in one place, Iraq. Haven’t you heard Bush’s game plan described as fly paper. the Jehadis are being recruited from all over and swarming into the trap. The more of them we kill in Iraq the fewer there will be to come over here and kill us. So a few women and children become colateral damage. Those people do not value their women and children like civilized people do. . Look how they abuse, mutilate, rape and murder their women and girls. And they strap bombs on their children and blow them up. Every one of them who doesn’t survive is just one less fututre Jehadi. We can’t win this war for survival by turning the other cheek. They have made it clear, it’s kill or be killed.

  7. Ken says:

Strata dramatizes Faruq’s killing. Check back and see if he didn’t do the same with Zarqawi and hint as did the Bushies it was a key
“turning point” in the war. This war has already set the modern record for failed “turning points.”

  8. For Enforcement says:

Ken, How are things there in France?

would you prefer not to have any turning points.
What label would you put on killing a major operative of the enemy?
    Same old thing?

    Yea, you probably would.

    Give our regards to Jacque.

  9. For Enforcement says:

Ken, would you cut and paste from AJ’s post the line about it being a “turning point” I cculdn’t find it.

But then people in France probably can extrapolate better than Americans.

    Our regards to Jacque.
