Obama Administration Keeps Discovering New Ways To Screw Up

Published by at 7:17 am under 2012 Elections,All General Discussions

This goes in the ‘You have to be kidding me” category:

With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work.

Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department’s $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the job of assembling the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car has been outsourced to Finland.

The excuse is it could not be built here in America – which is BS. Anything can be built in America.

What this demonstrates once again is how incompetent this White House is when you compare its rhetoric to its results. There is no finer measure of competence than results.

So tax payers now have blown over $500 million on Solyndra – only to see its promised new jobs disappear, and over $500 million on a fake green car now being manufactured in Finland. Anyone ever think to restrict these loans to ‘Made in America’?

This administration is failing epically because:

  1. It’s ignorance of business and the free market continues to drive it into failed solutions. This group of wannabes has an elementary school level grasp about real life, which means all its good intentions will fail (if they are really good intentions).
  2. It’s business ignorance is only matched by its liberal arrogance, which has become a barrier for any course corrections. While the left wondered why Bush could not admit errors, they are flaming out because they cannot see their own failures to save their political lives. They refuse to admit they have screwed up, and now the screw ups are so numerous and severe they cannot shift gears in any face saving manner – so they drive full speed ahead into the abyss.
  3. This crowd in the White House believes all power is meant to be abused for gain primarily – and is totally focused on raiding the tax payers for all their politically connected cronies. Not a single proposal or plan has anything to do with bettering the lives of the people, it is all a facade to line leftist pockets. Charlatans is probably to weak a term for this crowd of pick pockets.

The frustration growing in America with DC is because no one can understand why such behavior can continue without consequences. How can so many fools be left in charge so long? Aren’t their any laws to protect us from government greed and incompetence like we have for doctor malpractice and other commercial protections? Why aren’t there criminal cases being brought for this level of abuse and theft?

America wonders how is it DC could throw someone in jail for a expired car tags, but the mismanagement of half a billion dollars (many times over) draws no punishment?

Time to dismantle the federal beast. Completely dismantle it, down to its minimal core.

    and it’s named “KARMA”????

lol, you can’t make this stuff up!!!

It’s a beautiful car, though. Wish I could afford one.

AJ – this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you start adding up all of the questionable loans, kickbacks, waste, fraud, and abuse, you would be well in the many billions of dollars. The expected result, of course, is that the government, having run up massive debt, is coming back to the people and demanding that they pay MORE TAXES!!

  3. Mike M. says:

AJ, I don’t think this is about incompetence.

    It’s about criminality.

These loans, etc., are going to Obama donors. Democrat bigwigs. And their families. The Dems are robbing us and our descendants to fill their pockets with stolen tax dollars.

They must be prosecuted, convicted, and put in prison…and everything they own confiscated to repay the victims.

  4. lurker9876 says:

With all the attacks against Cheney and Halliburton, it’s ironic that the Democrats are doing the same thing.

Better keep track of these things because just wait…in 2014, they will use these tactics against one of our beloved politicians…cronyism!

Hopefully, by then, the GOP would have learned to fight back and the Americans would have learned to get past the Democrats’ message.

  5. kathie says:

There was no problem with Cheney and Halliburton. It was a lie from the beginning, paper trail provable.

Obama is a clueless leader and has surrounded himself with other clueless people who believe the lie that government exists to dole out money to cronies. He has given hard working American’s money to his pals……really how is this any different then what Putin is in the process of doing in Russia?

  6. lurker9876 says:

In spite of no problem with Cheney and Halliburton, many Americans believed the lies pushed by the mainstream media. I’m sure that many Americans are not aware of this Fisker Karma deal.

Steve Jobs supposedly tried to tell Obama a few things but Obama wouldn’t believe him. Guess that’s because Obama is so clueless or that Steve’s suggestions go against Obama’s ideology of marxism or whatever.

  7. WWS says:

here’s a rule of thumb that seems to always ring true: whenever the democrats lie about what others are doing, they are always betraying the secret longings of their own hearts, and telling you exactly what they will do as soon as they get the power to do it.

ANYTHING the democrats claim to hate – I gurantee it’s what they want more than anything.

You may ask, sn’t that the hallmark of people who are fundamentally evil? Why, yes it is.

“… it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work.”

What work? What is so ‘special’ about this car that a typical factory cannot do? We have a large automobile assembly facility here in Atlanta that was idled 2 years ago. The GM car plant in Doraville, Ga. It has access to mass transit, railroad, interstate, air-cargo nearby and all the infrastructure a modern large-scale factory needs. Specialized tooling is necessary in any manufacturing process I can think of. Skilled labor can be easily relocated.

I smell a load of BS as an excuse to escape US abusive taxes and regulation, but still grab US tax money. Crony Capitalism.

  9. ivehadit says:

wws, you are 100% correct. It’s the standard democrat tactic to smear the other while doing the exact thing for which they rail. When is the public going to understand this?? It doesn’t take much to really understand this administration-just read Alinsky.

We haven’t heard from the CIA and the FBI lately where lots of power resides…wonder what they are up to…We should ALL be curious.

And lastly, I am so entertained by the fact that the Left had a revolution and no one came/cared. LOL! Rotfl!

    Phil,

But they didn’t want to run a factory themselves (all that hassle of have to hire workers, buy materials, pay bills, etc.). They just wanted to place an order with a car company to build the cars for them.

  12. Redteam says:

Excellent post. Obama doing what he promised he would do, support the unions and public service workers and funnel billions to his cronies.

One interesting fact about this wondercar, it get worse equivalent fuel mileage than a Ford Explorer SUV (19 mpg)

oh, and so far a total of one has been delivered to a customer: Leonardo DeCaprio.

  13. crosspatch says:

I’ve been trying to tell people for a couple of years now that this administration is on a spree of cleaning out the US Treasury and pumping cash into cronies. The Obama administration is the best organized robbery of the US taxpayer ever conceived. It is like a giant Hoover vacuum sucking cash out of the pockets of people who haven’t even been born yet and shoveling it into the pockets of political supporters and cronies.

This man needs to go to prison.

  14. WWS says:

crosspatch, you sure got the Hoover part right – in more ways than one!

  15. crosspatch says:

WWS, Hoover was not all that bad. I believe he would have ended the Depression faster than Roosevelt did. UCLA recently did a study that showed Roosevelt probably EXTENDED the depression by seven years due to his policies.

Hoover would have had a deeper depression but for a much shorter period of time.

Electing Roosevelt was one of the worst mistakes America has made in modern times and I believe that with all my heart.

  16. crosspatch says:

Actually, there is evidence that the depression was showing signs of easing and the economy was turning up at about the time Roosevelt’s first programs were being enacted and that pretty much quashed the recovery.

For example, wage controls. Roosevelt had a regulation passed that prevented business from cutting wages. So they had to lay people off putting more people out of work until finally the business went under because they could not cut salaries when the business’ income fell. So that one regulation right there threw thousands of Americans out of work and caused many businesses to close extended the depression by many years.

The current GOP leadership in Congress does not get it. by now, the house should have passed bills abolishing agencies [natl. endowment for arts, natl endowment for humanities, corp for public broadcasting, etc] and massive cuts in budgets.
for all the huffing and puffing about “cutting the budget,” Fed spending is up 5% this fiscal year compared to last year.
I advise stocking up on ammo, hand tools, and long-term food.

  18. Frogg1 says:

I heard on the radio this morning that these cars are also expecte to cost $75,000. I don’t think Americans will be lining up to buy them in today’s economy. I don’t know if this analysis is correct; but, an article on Pat Dollard’s site also says that when you consider all aspects of the energy (not just gas) it is less fuel efficient than an SUV:

Electric Car Subsidized by US Taxpayers Gets Worse Fuel Efficiency Than a Ford Explorer
    http://patdollard.com/2011/10/electric-car-subsidized-by-us-taxpayers-gets-worse-fuel-efficiency-than-a-ford-explorer/

  19. crosspatch says:

How many miles does a fully electric get to a ton of coal? They are still fossil fuel cars, just that the fuel is burned a long way away from where the car is at the moment.

I guess I finally get the root of the appeal for Cain: he isn’t a politician. He is the only one in the race who isn’t a politician. Maybe we need someone in that position who isn’t a politician. I think we also need to elect more engineers to Congress so they can actually understand what the heck they are spending our money on.

  20. WWS says:

I still like Cain, but Gawd! the holes he keeps digging for himself with his mouth! Like the mess he got himself in now about abortion. “Well I’m against abortion, and I think it should be illegal, except if a woman wants an abortion then that should be her choice, not the governments.”

WTF???? does he even have any idea what he’s saying, or does his mouth flap all on its own sometimes?

(pssst…. hermann…. if it’s against the law, then it can’t be her choice. If you believe it should be the woman’s choice, than you can’t make it against the law. There’s no middle ground between those two poles, it’s an either/or choice!)
