Earth To Democrats: You Got Your Wild Government Growth Already – NO MORE!

It seems the petulant Democrats are all upset because Mommy & Daddy Americans took their credit cards away from them after they blew their capitol on bogus and wasteful programs and ran up historic deficits.

After emerging from a lunch meeting on Thursday with members of her party and Jack Lew, the White House budget director, Ms Mikulski said her colleagues were feeling “volcanic” about the prospect of a $3,000bn deal to cut deficits and raise the debt ceiling that did not include any higher taxes, adding that it was “like Mount Vesuvius” in the room.

In 2008, the last year President Bush was in office, the annual deficit (then a record) was $485 Billion. This year, after the Democrats ran amok in 2009 and 2010, the deficit is well over three times as much!

The whole point of this debt debate is to RESTORE BALANCE after Democrats screwed up so badly and spent 2 generations worth of income. When I told my 11 year old twins these knuckle heads had spent so much money they would have to work to pay it off, they went ballistic. They couldn’t believe anyone could be allowed to spend money they haven’t even earned yet. The coming generations are not impressed with Democrat performance.

And the Democrats are in denial. They think after the usual BS language and spin they can put their porky snouts back into the trough. Sadly for them, they are actually heading for something other than the trough – like a bacon and eggs breakfast.

I doubt very seriously that Boehner and the congressional leaders will come up with a deal that will get the votes from both branches. That 11 am meeting is going to be interesting or as expected…no surprises.

What are your predictions? No deal, let us default, or a really bad deal all around?

I’m hoping that the House Republicans will stand strong on this one and ignore the MSM’s vitriolic attacks. I’m also hoping that the American Public has gotten too smart to recognize the lies of the MSM.

AJ, don’t forget that the purse strings (Congress) were taken over by DEMOCRAT PELOSI in 2006!

And also, Bush REDUCED the deficit *three* years in a row before the ’08 debacle.

The Democrats like taxes…the Republicans should give them taxes.

A tax on Democrats. 20% of gross income (over and above income tax), and 10% of current wealth.

It’s just amazing that our elected representatives act like they deserve access to every last dime we citizens have (or will ever in the future accumulate).

They can’t control their urge to write ever-larger pieces of legislation which place ever-larger chunks of our lives under the control of a not-particularly-beneficent State. Since they don’t really want to be on record as endorsing the huge costs and burdens of compliance that come with their over-reaching mandates (nor do they want to allow for the possibility that later lawmakers can come along and undo their mighty efforts), they create “regulatory commissions” with “panels of experts” who do the actual dirty work of making whole categories of economic free choice illegal. Even better, in their command-and-control view, these regulating agencies operate in realms beyond the scope of Congressional oversight, so there is no avenue for citizens to seek redress when, for instance, a farmer’s swampy half-acre is declared “protected wetlands” thus preventing it being drained and planted with a crop.

Thus we are forced to comply with edicts which we citizens never had a chance to debate or agree to. The little Stalins in Congress (and yes, they come from both sides of the aisle) get to shave away our freedoms bit-by-bit while requiring us taxpayers to finance the means by which our rights are infringed and our liberties squelched.

The new deal that the Republicans are working on by 4 pm tomorrow…well, Redstate now reports how bad it is.

I really don’t know how we can every come up with a good deal.

I am not so certain A.J.

Even if Republicans can reverse the financial trend today, I doubt it will be more than temporary. It is human nature.

We like our benifits. If you can vote yourself more money at someone else’s expense, why not? Something like 47% of our population pay no Federal income tax. Once enough of our population is broke enough, all they have to do is keep on voting for more payouts and they will win.

It can only be a matter of time before we lose the republic. The best we can do today is push that date back a few generations. At this point today, I doubt that even this is possible anymore. I fear that it is within my lifetime now.

Sorry, left off a last point:

This is a major part of the reason why I say: NO DEALS WITH ANY TAX INCREASES!!!

Liberals *have* to ask for more, constant expansion of programs and benefits is the heart and soul of Liberal philosophy. This is why even now, when the entire economy is breaking down under the weight of their plans, all they can say is “More, More, MORE!!!”

To do anything else would be for them to deny their faith, and you must understand that they would much prefer to see society and government collapse before they would give up their faith.

Of course being very stupid people with no foresight, they lie to themselves and tell themselves that this cannot happen, even as the opening notes of societal collapse play everywhere around them.

Without constant expansion, there is no liberal power base anymore. They may not understand anything else, but they understand that.

They are dying – even they know it. All they have left is a last chance to take the rest of us down with them.

(Look at Greece for the endgame of where this all ends up if no restraints are reached – Greece just handed over most of its sovereignty to Germany for a few bowls of porridge)

The left does not care about the future of this country. PERIOD.

Are we in to Cloward Piven territory now? Looks like it to me.
I say the Asian markets will be spooked if the republicans DON’T get the spending cut.
