Moonbats On Parade In Washington Post

Published by at 10:12 am under 2006 Elections,All General Discussions

I caught this at RCP, knowing full well a lot of truly big name bloggers have probably beat this to death already, but it is too funny disturbing to pass up. The Post did a story on the foaming-at-the-mouth left in this country, who show traits that should send warning signs to any concience person that the policies, ideas, views that come out of this kind of emotional obsessiveness is radioactive waste:

In the angry life of Maryscott O’Connor, the rage begins as soon as she opens her eyes and realizes that her president is still George W. Bush. The sun has yet to rise and her family is asleep, but no matter; as soon as the realization kicks in, O’Connor, 37, is out of bed and heading toward her computer.

Out there, awaiting her building fury: the Angry Left, where O’Connor’s reputation is as one of the angriest of all. “One long, sustained scream” is how she describes the writing she does for various Web logs, as she wonders what she should scream about this day.

She smokes a cigarette. Should it be about Bush, whom she considers “malevolent,” a “sociopath” and “the Antichrist”? She smokes another cigarette. Should it be about Vice President Cheney, whom she thinks of as “Satan,” or about Karl Rove, “the devil”? Should it be about the “evil” Republican Party, or the “weaselly, capitulating, self-aggrandizing, self-serving” Democrats, or the Catholic Church, for which she says “I have a special place in my heart . . . a burning, sizzling, putrescent place where the guilty suffer the tortures of the damned”?

This woman needs help. She is obviously unhappy with her life and is out blaming anyone she can about her situation. Her life is not the fault of Bush or Conservatives.  Most the things she is upset about happened because or Democrat policies when Democrats ran the country.

This much anger at abstract groups and unknown people is pathetic.  Too easy to blame others, who have their own life challenges and heart aches and tough times.  Maryscott acts like she alone suffers. The fact this is the voice of the left illustrates there are a lot of people out there just not coping well with reality. What is funny in all of this sadness is, after venting their spleen like this, they cannot fathom why no one gives them any credibility.

Take a Chill Pill – you will live longer and enjoy life more. But my guess is the drooling left and the serious left are parting their ways. The Post does a great job of putting the microscope on these unstable people. It can only marginalize them. The world view of these people has been replaced, and they cannot deal with it. No rocket science required here.

Addendum: The piece is mesmerizing. Like when I go to Kos and realize how good my life is because I am not one of these sad people. But I must note how similar the logic these people have is to that of the Taliban and Al Qaeda:

As for the keyboard, it is where O’Connor finished her evolution from lost soul to angry soul, beginning with that very first rant, which concluded with a wish that Bush, “after contracting incurable cancer and suffering for protracted periods of time without benefit of medication,” go to hell.

She wrote it, sent it to Daily Kos, saw it appear online, watched as people responded to it — and learned something about the effect of being both heartfelt and vicious. “It’s impactful,” she says. “It gets attention.”

That basically sums up 9-11 and all the bombings and killings around the world by the Islamo Fascists. That is why people were being beheaded on TV in Iraq. It was ‘impactful’, and ‘vicious’. These people are the enablers of the terrorists. They represent the example that let’s terrorists think their actions are no different than what Americans think and dream they could do. The see a Maryscott and say ‘how is my anger any different?’  These angry (and emotionally stunted) people are one step away from moving from actions to words, just like Islamcists did at some point. This is not good.

Hugh Hewitt mentioned that the Democrats need to step away from these moonbats. I think that is what the post was doing in presenting this scathing representation to a country not as experienced with the angry left as bloggers are. This will be a shock to many who do not follow politics much. I can tell from anectdotal evidence this is not sitting well with many hard left democrats. My in-laws are all classic California liberals – and they have been pulling back from the left because of this kind of uncontrolled tirade for months now. I think I will send them a link to see what they think.  I am fairly sure I know the answer: become independents.

I’ve tried to understand this hate, and think it is two fold (a) the left has lost it’s status as the correct thinkers except among the media elite and in academia. Everywhere else they are now considered foolish and declasse;(b)displacement–they are angry that 9/11 has changed the world and others’ valuation of their world view and so they blame the Administration for it. If only Kerry or Gore had been elected, they think, the big pizza party would still be on.

You know, I was about to say the same thing. The only difference between al Qaeda and some of these hate-filled liberal bloggers is that they don’t use violence. They share some of the exact same rhetoric and propaganda about the USA, Bush, and Israel. The only difference is that al Qaeda is willing to kill for it, while the liberal bloggers just rant, rave, and cuss the anger out of their system on their blogs.

Not to mention the fact that they exhibit some of the exact same “fascist” traits they claim to oppose: http://www.seixon.com/blog/archives/2006/04/dailykos_in_a_b.html

  3. A Look At The Unhinged Left…

I’m guessing the writer wrote this article in a attempt to show the left as angry, well he succeeded. He also showed them as unhinged, intellectually dishonest and incapable of debate without insults and cursing. Basically a bunch of immature m…

If I ever found myself in “Maryscott’s” home, I half expect I’d find a closet or two full of boxes of voodoo dolls. She and her ilk aren’t just angry; they actually LIVE AND BREATHE anger. Anger is a lifestyle choice to these people.

I really, really hope you’re right that even the leftists are getting fed up with these people. I really, really don’t want to see this kind of festering putrefying moderate-abominating hate infesting America’s #2 political party any more than it already has. That hate, in my humble amateurish outsider’s opinion, is probably the #1 reason why nothing can get done in Washington.
