A Tragedy In Tucson Turns Into Grotesque Left Wing Media Circus

Published by at 10:28 am under All General Discussions

We are all stunned and saddened by the madness that played out in Tuvson yesterday. Some of us started researching the insane postings of the shooter as the news broke yesterday and we quickly realized he was a very disturbed individual. He listed as favorite readings The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf. One thing is for sure he was not part of any main stream political movement. But that is not how the media is spinning this.

The killer was an older version of the Columbine killers – a social outcast with a tortured mind. Another case like the VA Tech murderer, or those killed by obsessed and mentally unstable stalkers.

The news media has been laying out the hints about some connection to the Tea Party or heated political rhetoric. That is absurd. Anyone leaning towards Mein Kampf or The Communist Manifesto is not going to be comfortable in the Tea Party.

This is a national and personal tragedy. The myriad of young and promising lives snuffed out is simply horrifying. But even worse are the political vultures already circling and attempting to achieve some political gain, make some lame political connection, that favors their side. Disgusting.

The left wing is hurting from the political smack down they took last November. But those hurt feelings are not going to be a reasonable or allowable excuse for trying to use this tragedy for political gain.

That would make them almost as grotesque as the mad young man who decided to make a statement through mass murder. Whatever worms of insanity that worked their way on the tortured mind of the shooter, his purpose was to send a terrifying message – to force the country to look at him and his rambling thoughts. Left wing media outlets and personalities who decry political debate as the source of this tragedy are playing with fire. They are heating up the political climate themselves, throwing disparaging hints about good people who have opposing political views and are fed up with deaf, dumb and blind pols in DC.

The last thing we need is to trigger another nut-job into transitioning from rhetoric into terrorist action. If any connection can be made here, it is how the mass murder of innocents (a.k.a terrorism) is the preferred method of gaining media attention. That is the model being followed here – not that of the non-violent Tea Party movement.

Addendum: As I finished this post ABC News broadcast a disgusting quote about people being in the ‘cross hairs’ of Sarah Palin’s PAC. In a story about heated rhetoric, it does not get more heated or pathetic than this.

Update: Hmm, is the left wing media spin because leftist hated Rep Giffords

Update: Shooter was a flag burner, so there was no way he was a Tea Party type or friend of Sarah Palin. As I said, the media has been disgusting over this tragedy. Will never watch ABC News again.

Update: The recent violent insanity seems to be centered around the recent Democrat political losses, not GOP wins. Some left wing losers are going gross and ugly.

    Well put.

May we please take the death of the little girl and the judge and the four other people and the wounds of the other 12 people allow us all – nay, force us all – to see that hatred, emotion, and irrationality wreck havoc on our families and our nation.

God bless all who suffer from the act of this criminal. May we, in their memory, lift ourselves into a higher disposition towards clarity, compassion, understanding, faith, and truth.

The little girl was the only girl on an all-male baseball team.

The left still refuses to recognize the Foot Hood killer as a jihadist driven by the radicalness of Islam; yet, they were too quick to blame yesterday’s incident against the Tea Party movement, et al.

The Anchoress was quick to warn us yesterday of these vitriolic comments.

Wow, the scheduling court appearance was quick. 11 am ET – killer in court and the state of Arizona had better prosecute him to the extent of the law. Thankfully, it still has laws of capital punishment no matter our federal laws. Man, to think about Arizona’s new law on illegal immigration and be sued by the DOJ…

I really cannot help but try and pronounce the suspect’s last name phonetically and end up pronouncing it as “Loner”. Turned out that he was reclusive. Fox News is saying that he’s not cooperating. The more recent photo of him certainly is misleading.

P.S. This morning, not only did I wake up to a cold, rainy morning, I see this headline, “This 9 year old girl was born on 9/11.”

Thank you for posting this, AJ. The entire world needs to know about the corrupt media…(if they have been living under a rock the past 10 years).

And it needs to be exposed how this administration could use this to advance their agenda.
Where is a discussion of Judge Roll’s death? Is it because he is a republican? Just askin’.

ivehadit, I agree but in some cases, it’s hopeless. I’ve tried to point it out to a few posters and they still continue to ignore the facts. And CNN did it again when they interviewed Jared’s former classmates when they considered Jared very left-wing and liberal.

It’s interesting that Giffords is a Jew; yet, the media focus is on her. Now they’re considering a connection between Jared and anti-semitism because of those two books.

But by the end of the day, the conclusion will probably be narcissism and put Jared in the same class with Lee Harvey Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, and a few others.

And now the left-wing bloggers are asking why Sarah Palin has not been arrested while ignoring the fact that Marcus Moulitas did the same thing.

    Good grief.

Left-wing hysterical blindness regarding this should come as no surprise. It is a desperate effort to deflect attention from the fact their cherished agenda is widely despised and their faux idol empty-suit of a president is widely regarded as an incompetent failure. When you add to this the fact that Keynsianism and the utopian welfare states are crumbling like sand castles all over the world (not to mention AGW Theory has now become a world-wide punchline) this kind of blame-mongering is the only thing the Left has left.

early reports claimed he was some kind of “war veteran” – in fact, he tried to join and was denied because he was nuts.

Another thing coming out about him is that he had an intense hatred of religion.

The more we learn about Jared, the more I’m wondering about his upbringing, his family lifestyle and parents. Looks like his high school and community colleges had problems with him.

He used a Glock 19 semi-automatic gun. Amazing how he was able to get that many bullets out in short time before he was tackled by two men.

Moe Lane has another good post up about Emma Goldberg or something about guilt by association does not work anymore.

We conservatives are going to be made to pay a serious price for this. Remember our President and how he looks at issues like this. We cannot expect any type of moderation in the response.

I would be careful about believing that he has actually read any of the books he listed on a social networking site as his “favorites”. It is likely posturing. Many of them are of opposing views but all of them are the sort that “militants” of one stripe or another might have read. He might have wanted to make himself appear more intimidating by listing those books. My initial reaction is doubt he has actually read any of them.

From everything I have read so far, he seems to be quite psychotic in being unable to distinguish reality from what he imagines reality to be. His writing of awake dreaming and his outbursts of things completely disconnected from the subject at hand, even his earlier meeting with the Congresswoman where he asked “how do you know words have meaning” seem to indicate a very troubled mind. She answered that question in Spanish, by the way, which would have possibly infuriated him.

The left-wingness of this guy should be emphasised when you talk to people.

This is a situation where many of the leftist can see the truth of the matter.
