Delay Tax Fix Until Next Congress

Published by at 10:06 am under All General Discussions

I think we should give the far left what they want – a Pyrrhic victory by delaying the hold on current tax rates until February, after the GOP takes over the House. Let Americans personally experience the joy of liberal insanity, as everyone would see massive tax increases in their paychecks for 4-6 weeks. Let everyone get a taste of Pelosi’s madness – as if we need anymore after the bitter taste left by massive deficits, endless unemployment and the destruction of our health care.

Once the Democrat tax hikes go into effect, it will be the GOP House that will be seen as coming to the rescue. They will get the credit for halting the cancer that is the federal bureaucracy right now, and for any economic easing to come.

For those that pay quarterly won’t see a tax increase as long as the new Congress ends up passing something within its first three months. But for those that get paid on a frequent basis will see those increases.

From what I understand, the new House GOP plan to start from scratch on a new tax bill (tax reform), which is why we’re seeing a lot of articles proposing flat tax rate.

I agree with you, we want the far left to get what they want.

This is turning into a feeding frenzy. No one knows even now what the final proposal is going to look like. But if it’s true that Harry Reid is going to throw in an online poker proposal that will ONLY apply to Harrah’s Casino, one of his biggest contributors, then that’s enough for me to want to kill it. This is Al Capone-level corruption in play.

Still nothing more bizarre than watching Obama effectively abdicate the Presidency yesterday afternoon and call in Bill Clinton to take over.

Iowahawk: “Ending weeks of speculation and rumors, President-Elect Barack Obama today named Bill Clinton to join his incoming administration as President of the United States, where he will head the federal government’s executive branch.”

I’ve suspected that politically, this would be the best thing for the Republicans…but they need to change the terms.

This is NOT a “tax cut”. This is the “Obama Democrat Tax Increase”. A farewell gift from the Dems fired by the electorate in the 2010 election.

Everyone will pay more…and the burden will fall hardest on the poor, whose income taxes will increase 50%. Thanks to the Democrats.

Hammer that meme, and the Left will crack.

Sounds like a plan! I don’t care about the politics of it (and who looks good, etc)….I just think the Repubs can pass it stand alone without all the additional spending, and that would be much better for the country. I hope they later can do tax reform. I’ve also head a lot of talk about the flat tax. In fact, Rep Ryan’s Roadmap plan introduces a flat tax option.
