Government Taking Over The News Media

Published by at 8:05 am under All General Discussions

Sadly, the fall of the news media – which broke the liberal hold on communication here in the US and allowed for more main stream news sources like Fox – has also opened up the opportunity for a Goebbels like take over by the government and its allies.

The recent calls to ‘save’ journalists from their shoddy, inept and biased product is also the opportunity to force the communicators of news to due the bidding of those who sign their paychecks. In this case the signee will be the government (one question – will Curic and company be forced to cut their exec-like pay for the good of all the news people?). When the government is the life blood for those presenting the news, you know the America we knew for over 200 years is gone.

And we can see today – and I mean today – where this will lead.

The Obama Administration has singled out Fox News as the upstart voice of opposition to all things liberal (duh, most of the nation feels that way). So in a classic oppression move, they went onto the other news media stations to claim a boycott on Fox, with a not so subtle warning the other news organizations better not follow Fox.

The other news media sent the message and got the message.

Now, another big ally of the control freak left has come out to send the signal again to the other news media, do what Obama says or else:

All year, FOX has worked 24/7 to block President Obama’s agenda—repeating lies about “death panels,” promoting Tea Party protests, and whipping up fake political scandals.1

Now, President Obama is fighting back. The White House communications director said FOX is a “wing of the Republican Party…let’s not pretend they’re a news network.”2 To draw attention to its biased coverage, President Obama will not appear on FOX for the rest of this year.3

It’s about time Democrats stood up to FOX! Can you sign this petition asking Democrats to support President Obama’s stance by staying off FOX as long as he does? We’ll deliver it to Sen. Lautenberg and Sen. Menendez.

Emphasis mine. Any Dumbocrat crazy enough to sign up to this madness deserves to lose in 2010.

See what happens, news media, if you report news verses push the President’s agenda? You get boycotted by the news makers (who right now are making news because of their ineptitude, but that’s not the point). If you report the same stories as Fox, stories which could harm or challenge the President’s initiatives, you will see your sources dry up.

This brings all new meaning to the term ‘bully pulpit’.

Why not? Those who love Obama want to continue to know how wonderful he is. But does the government really have to take them over to get good news? Not really!

Hugo would be proud and the rest of the MSM can deny that alligator just sitting next to their legs.

Tapper will be the next to feel the bite as Gibbs channel Baghdad Bob.

Yeah real stories have to be contained to keep from infecting the rest of the MSM.

Can’t puncture that bubble that the message control freaks need to keep in place.

And those that still supports Obama deny that they see the writing on the wall. By the same token, they believe Obama that Fox News are not telling the truth and don’t believe that Obama is transforming our own country and all.

They actually do believe in “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” but don’t understand these things.

  4. AJ,

You are looking at a cultural thing here. The Media to the Left of Fox News really does not get it.

The Left provides the super-majority of Media, Academia and non-government agency ‘Activists’ but the Right provides the majority (possibly super-majority) of Private small business, Military and Law Enforcement.

That is why you see reporters noting racial overtones where there aren’t any — like the recent Rush Limbaugh libel — and saying that an opponent of the president’s plan, and their plan, are racist, because in most cases they really believe that.

They really believe that conservatives are just ‘confused’ about the president’s health plan.

They really believe that the townhall opposition to public option is fomented by a vast (and rich) right-wing conspiracy.

They really believe that criminalizing guns will reduce the death rate in inner cities and anyone who opposes gun control simply wants the wars to continue.

Sometimes they are simply cynically using these charges as tactics to destroy debate. But many of them, in the media and government, believe it.

They are as unconnected to reality as flat-earthers.

Given that they run 20% of the American public, and a similar number of conservatives have issues as well, this is a major issue for free and open debate.

And when debate gets so clogged you can’t talk…

Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable.

Obama Meets With Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow

    October 21, 2009 – 19:45 ET

A day after key White House officials declared the Fox News Channel wasn’t a news organization, President Obama met with MSNBC personalities Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow.

Who’d a thunk it that Obama would be a paranoid narcissist ?

OK, narcissist yes, but virtually nothing would have made you think he would opt for the bunker mentality now on display. I know I thought his passing up the FoxNews primary debate in Las Vegas was more pandering to the paranoid masses rather than an indicator of his own paranoia of FoxNews, which now as festered into something pathological.

Apparently, that story of the auto czar invoking the “Madman theory of the Presidency” on the Chrysler bond holders wasn’t just the auto czar talking talking through his hat, but in fact was the real truth.
