More Democrat’s Caught With Kickbacks
Amazing how all these Democrats are being caught in kickback schemes in this era of the Abramof scandal. First we had cold-cash William Jefferson. Then a reminder of Murtha’s Abscam days when he was negotiating some graft. Just this week we learned of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s apparent kickbacks as the result of his work to make land swaps happen and zoning plans get over turned. And now we have an aide to Governor Blagojevich indicted on taking kickbacks:
A top adviser and fundraiser for Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich was charged in a federal indictment unsealed Wednesday with scheming to collect millions of dollars in kickbacks from companies seeking to do business with the state.
Businessman Antoin “Tony” Rezko was charged with operating a fraud scheme in which he, millionaire political contributor Stuart Levine and other insiders used Levine’s position as a member of two state boards to pressure companies to pay kickbacks in exchange for state business. Levine is among those previously charged in the case.
Now, with the problems found with Republican Randy “Duke” Cunningham and others, I think it is clear we need to clean out DC. The ‘tone’ in Washington seems to be get all you can while the getting is good (though this last case is obviously not in DC). Politicians and their aides seem to see public service as a way to get rich quick. We need to fix that confusion or lose our nation to endless and unbridled greed.
I’m new to this blogging business and heard about the site from the morning’s Rush broadcast. I think there are some real scandals that would blow the Clinton machine to smithereens but did not see anything about the biggest on on this site. .
I am talking about the Barrett Report, in case you have forgotten about it or haven’t heard. What was brought out in this report would make the dead turn over in their graves! I am speaking of the way the Clintons used the IRS to attack their enemies, including some of the “women” who had accused our illustrious hot pants Pres. of molestation, etc. I have called Sen. Coburn’s office repeatedly to thank him about his staying on this issue. The fact is that Clinton’s legal operatives evidently went through the courts to have a major portion of the report “redacted” so that much of it is hidden from the public who own the rights to that information. In other words, folks, you ain’t yet heard about coverups of this magnitude. It appears the Sen. Tom Coburn (OK) is the only one in the cesspool of a Beltway who has the guts and stamina to go after this information. I just didn’t know how to start a discussion about the Barrett Report specifically, so I am doing it here where the talk is being focused by AJStrata on general corruption in our nation’s capitol. I am particularly interested in this perversion of an entire government bureaucracy for the specific benefit of the Clintons and their machine because I am the TN 9th DD for the Fairtax. Everything about the IRS infuriates me, but what the Barrett Report turned up should make any basically decent person want to truly throw up.
Tony Snow was investigating this and mentioned it several times on our radio station here in Memphis, saying he’d uncovered something that would stop the Clinton’s dead in their tracks this past spring, I believe. What happened? Well, it is basically being covered up by all these redactions which lawyers managed to use to hide the most damning parts of the report. So it seems, once again, the foxes will continue to feed on the little chickens–us–while the press sits idly by.
Blogs and the internet are the only way of getting out real news this day.
