The October Surprise

Published by at 7:03 pm under 2006 Elections,All General Discussions

Captain Ed has a great denunciation of the stupidity on the left by applying some commen sense logic and historic perspective to Gary Hart’s prediction George W Bush will attack Iran before the elections in order to win the elections. To wit (pun intended):

Now we have yet another mainstream Democratic figure pushing through another October Surprise theory, and it’s even more ridiculous than the Osama rumor [of 2004] – ed]. For one thing, it ignores military logistics completely, a pretty embarrassing exposure of Democratic fecklessness on defense.

My October/November suprise candidate? I will be surprised if the Democrats don’t lose more seats in November, the way they are going. Anybody buying these fantasy tales would be a real danger as a national leader. America really does deserve better than this. Much better.

My oprediction of on October Surprise is:

The Dems will replace Sen. Bob Menendez NJ (D) on the ticket

as always the october surprise–usually attributed to a sinister Baker and now Rovian impulses comes from the Dems. last election we had the CBS memo and now we have the leaked intelligence report that states the obvious–we declared war, they enlisted and we set up a killing field.

who knows, maybe the intelligence community, which certainly got the 90’s wrong has finally figured out the obvious. if you declare war the other side gets enlistees. duh……….

Yeah, Patrick, as the old joke goes — it’s really not rocket surgery. And I can’t imagine any rational person who thinks it’s not better to have them congregating in Iraq instead of Central Park.

Why I believe I may have found the source, or a source, of this conspiracy theory laundering. You’ll never guess who’s involved. It’s totally not VIPS or anything like them. Nope.

Patrick Neid-the “other side” has recruited many more than we have killed, is that good enough for you?

Retired Spook and Patrick-your own wot ally Rumsfeld has
twice expressed his disquieted admissions,”I don’t know whether we are winning or not” in his most honest utterances of the past three years.

  6. Retired Spook says:

What’s your point, Ken. Are you saying you admire Rummy’s honesty? I doubt it.

    Ken

Observing another one of you “wining posts”, AJ has been here for only a little over a year, are you a 3 year stalker?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

  8. MerlinOS2 says:

    Ken

I know your post was directed at rummy with the three year reference, but it still shows your lack of grasp of the total worldview.

Each time you post here you get catagorically destroyed by multiple posters with facts and retoric as the situation suggests.

I admire your stick to it purpose, it is just a shame that it couldn’t be redirected to something productive.

    Repeat after me

We shall not doubt those speaking truth to power!

Like yer blog, wouldn’t envy your heating bills.

But somehow I still like your observations, it’s like an insight into California ten year down the road.

    Ken

How much per post on the right side of the blogs is George Soros paying you?

  11. Terrye says:

Well maybe the October surprise is the same old crap of left leaning reporters cherry picking classified intel for political purposes. Given the track record of the intel people thus far I would take all that with a semi of salt anyway.

And Ken you do not know how many of those bastards we have killed, do not pretend you do.
